Room not ready till 40 mins after arrival time. No bar available inside the hotel for pre-dinner drinks as there was a wedding in the hotel. Waited 20 mins for drinks order to be taken once seated in the restaurant, then a further 20 mins (and 2 reminders) for them to be served.

Comfortable room. Great food in Carrington Grill.

Just could be so much nicer in every detail- would I stay there again? Definitely. Could it be improved, so much. But obviously needs some money spending on it and that is not easy to do right now for any business

The bedrooms were unbearably hot and its wasn’t an overly warm day. It may the room stuffy and uncomfortable. No air conditioning, just a fan which only circulated the hot air.

Beautiful location, most of the staff were very helpful. Rooms are well fitted. Lots of parking space

When we booked we were unaware this is part of Champness. The room is very basic, no room safe, no minifridge. Room was not made up till late afternoon. Shown as having pool and other facilities but they charge £15 each per session to use the pool. Our room seems remote from the main area. The Brasserie style restaurant is actually the golf course bar area which serves food.

Location was good the staff were all very nice.

Quite dated rooms with no walk in shower which is not great for people with mobility problems. No lift in the property and no “porters” on hand to take guests’ luggage to their rooms. Breakfast room also pretty dated and had a bit of a stale odour. No connecting corridor to the spa either. One day we returned to our room just after 4pm to find that the room had not been cleaned. Perhaps an oversight. Also prior to coming to the hotel I tried to reserve golf. I managed this but it took 2 days before I got any answer from the golf shop.

Nice building Good location in well kept grounds. Spa building excellent. Enjoyed the golf course.

Wedding party were sooo noisy...immediately beneath my room. Broken glasses ( still there next pm when I went outside). Also foul language and walking past my room at 2am shouting loudly. It was a nightmare. I didn't sleep

The ‘king room’ we stayed in (333) was awful. It had no air conditioning and the whilst the window did open it it was just a few feet from some equipment that was running all night. It was a summers evening so either had to boil or be cool but not sleep because of the constant noise.

Lovely location and fantastic grounds. Was there for our daughter’s wedding and as a wedding the venue the place is amazing.

My partner me and my 2 little boys under the age of 4 decided to come for a 2 night stay. The first day we got there we were put in a suite which hadn’t been refurbished, it was old fashioned and very dirty!! Dead bugs in the bath sink windows and bed! There was also hair and false eyelashes on the sofa and bed. I felt ill. We also asked 2 days before for an extra bed to be put in the room for our children which hadn’t been done. We spoke with staff and they said they would move us to a refurbished bedroom on the other side of the hotel, this was a lot nicer however it didn’t come with a bath which it what I paid for, it was also still dirty we complained again about this but they didn’t have anything else for us until the day after. The day after we checked out the second bedroom to the 3rd bedroom which we think was the Bridal suite, this was 100% times better it’s was gorgeous and nicely refurbished, however still dirty!!! Dead bugs on the windows, hair in the beds, hair grip on the floor in the bathroom and no extra bed made up. To make up for the inconvenience the hotel did kindly gift us some champneys spa treats which we love but for the price we paid for the room I would have much preferred a bit of a refund. I felt stressed out and dirty while staying there. Also none of the rooms have fridges and we asked the bar for bottles of milk for our children and the milk was gone off and it stunk!! It was vile. I wouldn’t need to stay in this hotel again which is a shame because the area is lovely and you would expect because it is in Cheshire and the price you pay it would be to higher standard. Food also was just ok I would recommend to eat out instead.

Mottram hall has lovely golf grounds and the spa area is very nice. The staff were lovely and very helpful especially in barneys restaurant.

Requested early check-in, which could not be accommodated, so I think this should be removed as an option. There was a wedding on, several early check-ins requested, and no rooms ready, but check out is 11am and check in 3pm, early check in 12. So my friend and I left our bags and checked back in when we returned from Rewind festival at 10.30pm. The room was ready, and the tv was not working due to the poor signal, toilet intermittent flushing, and no fridge, which we asked for.

It is set on a golf course and has very pretty surroundings. The room was clean, comfortable, and a good night's sleep. The receptionist was on her own, remaining calm through chaos and did what she could at a very busy time.

The lobby of the hotel was beautiful. We had high expectations of the room but was quite let down with it. Bathroom wasn't very clean. Very dated decor. Must of been a leak in the ceiling thats been fixed but never repainted or made to look better. Paid 160 to our window be facing bins. Window didn't even open. Extremely hot room. Plug wasn't secure and hanging off. One plug was a fake plug just stuck to the wall randomly. Tv hardly got channels and was dated. Needs a revamp 100%

The staff where amazing. One woman on the front desk was really nice sorry I can't remember her name. The grounds and outside of the hotel are amazing.

The check in and check out took more than 15 minutes separately as they only had one staff member on reception. There was no Aircon in the room. The breakfast selection was poor for people who don't eat pork. Overall, we paid a lot of money to stay somewhere that was okay but I've stayed in much nicer hotels for less money. The hall itself is amazing and we didn't go into the spa so maybe it would be worth coming for a day, but I wouldn't recommend an overnight trip.

The bed was comfortable and staff were really nice. The building itself and communal areas are beautiful and really impressive.

The fact that you had to pay additional amount for use of the pool and spa when the room cost over £200

Breakfast wasn't included - which for a room that cost over £200 I thought was awful. The use of the spa was also not included which again I thought was really disappointing.

Not quite the standard I expected, room was tired. Handrail above bath hanging off. Reception on both check in and check out was quite poor- young girls who quite clearly didn’t want to be there. Would have preferred not to have been woken up by workmen outside my window swearing every other word.

Everything was ‘ok’. Breakfast was nice and staff in the restaurant very attentive.
