Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaVery limited storage in the room. We only stayed for 2 nights and had 1 bag with us. But if you were staying for longer than that, you would be hard pressed for storage space.
It was in the best location. We lovedt hat it was across the road from the train station and not too far from the bus station and everything else!

United KingdomThere was no wardrobe in the room , just a rail with a few hangers on it . Not the end of the world though and no bedside table so we pulled a chair up to put our phone on etc…
Location was great , train station was literally across the road . Great view across part of the city . Bed was comfortable. Room was clean . Staff at reception were very friendly and great to have tea/coffee facilities in room .

AustraliaNot a lot of interaction with reception staff; sometimes it’s nice to be welcomed back by a friendly face.
The location was excellent - close to tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. The view from the window was great. There is a modern bar on site. The room attendants were friendly and helpful.

United States of AmericaMotel One is a motel. It's not a misnomer just because it's a hop and a skip from the royal mile. Anyway, issues we faced: 1. Room didn't have a well-functioning HVAC - after showers, the room would get very hot (in mid-April). 2. The room didn’t have a fridge. This was very inconvenient since we stayed for 5 days and would have liked the ability to store food items and have cold water for drinking. 3. Bathroom had limited storage (for toiletry kits etc). Small 4inch deep glass shelves - why?! 4. None of the bathroom soap, shampoo dispensers got refilled. One time, I left the bottle caps off thinking the cleaning staff would see them and know to refill. But we returned to a room with those caps still off and no refills. I don't think they even saw any of them (including those on the sink - first thing you see when you get in!), which made me worry about the level of cleaning. 5. Towels were threadbare. Time to cycle them out, guys.
Location. Size of room. Bathroom size. Shower area had enough room, unlike most UK hotels. Good storage in the room.

GermanyElevators were often busy and there are only 2. I was placed in a room adapted for wheelchair, which I can see how good it can be for people who require that, but not so great for people who don’t require. (Bathroom sink was very low, shower was too low, there was no furniture in the room)
The breakfast is good and the value is worthy. The views from the restaurant are lovely.
