Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United Kingdomwe liked the hosts and all the staff as they were all friendly and chatty and knowledgeable regarding the surrounding area of Whitby. They worked hard to keep the hotel and all the rooms clean to a very high standard. There is a good selection of cereals and the hot food was cooked to an individuals requirements. The hotel is situated along the sea front and in a good location for the sea and beach, and a short distance from the harbour and main town. Overall, our stay here was well worth it and would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Whitby.

United KingdomIt seems like a silly thing to say but the cutlery could have been more robust - cutting the excellent bacon was a bit of a chore. Nothing else, honest! And it does seem churlish to mention it but....you did ask!
Perfectly located to explore the town and to access restaurants. Great view when the mist lifted. The parking permit from the hotel was a bonus. The room was very comfortable and facilities were great. Breakfast was substantial with a wide choice, including freshly cooked full English and any variations on that you asked for. Other options were available too. The toast and coffee kept coming too! It was good to be rotated round the dining room each morning, rather than having a fixed table. Staff - a family-run hotel - were warm and welcoming. It was good to have the vroom serviced while we had breakfast which meant we were not expected to rush out - good on a wet morning when we could wait before going out. We have not been to Whitby for a very long time but, on this experience, will certainly return.
