Before I arrived, I had a phone call from the agency saying they had tried sending me an email about filling in a damage deposit form and that would need to be completed before I could enter the property. I don't remember receiving any such emails. This took a few phone calls to resolve. When I settled in to the apartment, the telly was not tuned in and I had to message the manager who came the next day to sort it. It feels a bit weird having to go through the bedroom area from the kitchen to get to the living/dining area. There was only a very small roll of toilet paper on arrival so I asked if I could have some more. The manager said that normally only 2 rolls were supplied, and kindly brought me another roll. However, it's confusing as to what constitutes "self-catering" as some places provide you with a welcome pack of milk, tea, cereal etc, whereas other places don't give you anything. There's no common standard. There was no hand wash or soap at either of the sinks. There is no stepstool for those of us who are under 150cm tall, so I had to stand on my case to reach the crockery. The manager explained that by pressing certain buttons on the water heater control, it would give 2 hours of hot water. I asked if she could text me instructions which she did, but even then, I couldn't get the controls to work, so in the end I did it manually. The mirror in the bathroom is too far away for detailed work such as applying makeup or dental flossing, though there is a large mirror in the bedroom area. There is no bathmat for inside the bath and no handholds, so getting out could be unsafe. The symbols for the bath and shower controls are tricky to read, as they are the same colour as the taps. There is only one window for natural light, which is where the sitting area is. The sitting area and telly feel cramped and could possibly be switched round with the dining table and chairs, as the dining area has an expanse which isn't used.

The apartment was clean and comfortable. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a good location not far from the railway station and a bus stop. The location is relatively quiet.
