Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe rubbish situation. The bins outside were overflowing and cats had torn it apart so there was rubbish everywhere outside.
Location was perfect for our stay, very pleasant little village with everything you need around. Host was very kind and the apartment was kid friendly for our 3 year old. He loved it!

United KingdomCarparking was tight, but manageable even getting wheelchair out. Normal TV would have been good, but saying that we used iplayer and radio so it was fine.
Location was excellent for what we wanted, ground floor apartment, quiet village, small tescos and morrisons, takeaways, pubs and excellent tearooms (Woodstocks) in Burnham. Apartment was big, light, very clean, nicely decorated, new carpets, plenty of comfy furniture and huge TV. Beds were comfy with extra pillows. Quite well equipped kitchen, though a measuring jug and bigger frying pan would have been usefu! It was warm, lots of hot water, condiments, tea, coffee etc and plenty of fluffy towels! Shower was good, not as powerful as ours at home, but perfectly adequate for our 3 night stay and there were complimentary shampoo, soap & shower gels.

United KingdomThe entrance to the property needs a bit of TLC - a lot of litter in the communal area inside and out.
Excellent location for our family trip to Legoland & Windsor Castle. The village of Burnham was lovely and offered excellent amenities right on our doorstep - Tesco, Morrisons, Dominoes, Chippy, Indian, Italian, cafe , pubs, butchers , chemist and a lovely park at end of the High St. The property was certainly spacious & provided everything we needed for a self catering stay .

Lovely apartment and the neighborhood was beautiful. Groceries on the corner, loads of restaurants super close and several coffee shops. Close to shopping and the rail station and was a quick rail ride into London.

New ZealandThis is QUITE far away from Central London... but the new Elizabeth train line is very close and goes all the way in! So we actually found this very convenient. It was also close to Windsor Castle which was worth seeing too. Big space with a washing machine a huge difference and was plenty of room for 3 of us. The sky light/window in the lounge was really nice and kept the place surprisingly warm. Burnham was actually a very nice village and we had a few good meals there too. The supermarket is literally 50m from accommodation.

United KingdomThe only natural light in the living room is from a strip of narrow single-glazed windows where the ceiling meets one of the walls. We think this should be addressed.
The apartment has good sized rooms and is well furnished. It is literally yards from all the shops and restaurants of Burnham High St but is set back in a quiet courtyard where you can park safely. For people who don't want to cook there were lots of options in the High St. Alternatively if you choose to cook there's a small Tesco and a large Budgen on the High St, and even a real Butcher! Burnham High St and the green and library at one end are a delight. The street is fairly narrow and one-way, so traffic has to proceed slowly, and this adds to the peaceful feel of the immediate area. We didn't need to go anywhere, but obviously there is the whole Thames Valley, the Chilterns, or a pretty short journey to Heathrow. National Trust / History enthusiasts will probably already know it's only 6/7 minutes drive to Cliveden, so there's no question that this could be a good base for sightseeing.

United KingdomOne day there was no parking space available so we had to park on the road quite a long way away. One night there was a lot of noise music going on until extremely late. However neither of these things were the fault of the hosts. Otherwise the property was excellent.

United KingdomThe main entrance needs to be properly maintained and cleaned. Cigarette bits all over the floor when going in. Not so good when you got kids with you. Some of our bed sheets were not washed, they were just well laid.
We stayed over for our legoland trip as we didn’t want a traditional hotel. The location was very good. Easy access to shops and restaurants. The accommodation had Netflix, YouTube and free WiFi. Very spacious for a family of 5. Kids enjoyed their stay!
