Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is nothing I would change, it’s perfect as it is.
We went to chill, and be by ourselves, and that’s exactly how it was, nice to be able to cook on the fire outside as well as cooking availability inside the hut, bed very comfortable, seating area outside very relaxing, fire outside to light if the night air gets too cold, the hut is nice and warm, lovely shower, everything is there that you need. The ponies are beautiful and so photogenic 😊, a beautiful cat that is so friendly and welcoming, lovely walks on the clay trail, the owners can’t do enough for you, but also leave you to it. This is a place not to be missed, you really need to visit it, it’s what you need to get away and discover yourself and chill out away from everything. Beautiful 🤩

United KingdomInside the hut, because of lack of space, there were only 'dining' type chairs or the bed to sit on. Not very relaxing. Great place if the weather is good because you can sit outside in the little garden, not so good when it's raining as you're in a tiny space on not particularly comfortable upright chairs. We were just unlucky with the weather so couldn't sit outside in the evening, so back from the restaurant and early to bed. I thought it was quite expensive.
A great use of limited space. Very well equipped. Spotlessly clean. Cheerful little place. Great location.

Gorgeous location, very well placed for the Eden Project. The Hut is very clean, and has everything we needed. Got good use out of the lovely fire pit too, and was such a joy to see the lovely ponies. Most of all however, we were joined on our stay by the sweetest, most cuddliest cat ever! He was a very gracious host!

United KingdomNothing.
What a great little place. We stayed just one night, but it was very relaxing. We had a fire pit and cooked some food on there too. Lovely touch having the Shetland ponies around. The place is very well equipped and clean. Would recommend to anyone wanted a little escape and Charlestown down the road is a lovely village with good seafood restaurants to choose from.

United KingdomThat we didn't stay for longer! Though, there are a couple of very minor considerations people might need to make. - no WiFi (still had signal though) - but it's a good place to get away from that. No TV either - we really didn't need that at all though. - people with cat allergies may wish to state this in advance! - for those that don't drive, like us, local shops are 25-30 mins away - recommend planning!
It was an absolutely magical place. From the views, to the ponies (special thanks to the man who gave us pellets to give them), to Gumball the cat effectively moving in with us for the duration... We have no complaints. One of the best places I have ever stayed. The hut itself was small, but the space was incredibly well designed, and well equipped - everything was covered, it felt like. The bed was especially very big, and the oven and fridge were very welcome. We were here for a gig at the Eden Project - but fully recommend the local walk around the area to Carn Grey Rock, and the standing stones. It's a very beautiful area. This is just the absolute best place - and the price was great too. Not sure when we'll be able to return - but we both really want to!

United KingdomWe had real difficulties finding the properties as the instructions went my junk file and then despite searching we did not find it. Even the neighbours and the local taxi company did not know the location of the property
It was very comfortable and extremely well equipped

United KingdomThe Miners Hut is genuinely the most cosy place I've stayed. It's decorated beautifully and stocked with everything you could ever need! Everything was immaculately clean and well presented. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the ponies are adorable and the cat is super cuddly! Perfect location for a wonderful view from the garden and excellently situated for access to local amenities. Even though it was raining most of our stay the hut has wonderful heating and a well appreciated hot shower. I must say though that the bed was so comfortable we had to accommodate more lie-ins! We will definitely be coming back to Cornwall, even if only to stay here!

United KingdomLike many of the other reviews, we wished we'd booked more than one night! My Partner and I live locally in St Austell but with the season picking up we don't find much 'us' time in-between working, so had a phone free evening/night/morning in this gorgeous hut, super cosy and well equiped, and if you're an animal lover like myself the ponies are an added bonus, so friendly and inquisitive whilst we ate our breakfast outside watching them roam. The hut is small but so well kitted out, also surprisingly not claustrophobic, my partner is 6ft so found the bed to be slightly snug but manageable short-term. Our favourite place we've stayed as a couple, we will definitely be back!

United KingdomThe shower head didn’t aim at you very well as the attachment holding it to the wall was worn. The lock on the front door was incredibly stiff as the door had swollen so getting in and out proved difficult. I also had no phone service or mobile data and there was no on site WiFi or a TV. I also wish I could have cuddled the ponies more as they were just gosh darn adorable.
The ponies were adorable, the parking was easy and the location was amazing. The hut was very aesthetic and cosy and even though it was cold when we got there, the heaters warmed it up extremely quickly.

United KingdomNo mobile phone hook up to charge up. Beware how quickly the heater warms up Miners hut very efficiently. Shower Towels didn’t smell as fresh as they should. Maybe the car parking space made a bit larger. As turn around space was a bit back and forth.
Clean and tidy with tea and coffee when you arrive. Beds comfortable, good shower with everything you need for short stay. Directions given to you are spot on. Wife fell in love with the pony’s.
