Reception were extremely helpful when we had an issue with our room (double and not a twin). Sorted the issue quickly. Very friendly staff in reception and the house keeping staff were lovely to chat to. The shower in our room was very powerful and everything was clean. We had an executive room and I would say the small price upgrade was worth it.

The bathroom needs some TLC but there was a postcard in the room that you could complete with any maintenance issues so used that when checking out and the staff were really pleased to know

Be careful that you put your car registration in for your entire journey. We got a parking ticket that took a while to have cancelled

There was a wedding which meant that one night there was noise until midnight or so.

Food was exceptionally well prepared and the staff were very kind and responsive. For reference, I moved to a higher star hotel later but the food was terrible and staff nowhere near the same quality as in Midland. They deserve an extra star!

One of the towels had a clump of what looked like black hair inside, but there were other towels to use.

Lovely staff - very polite and friendly. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and a credit to whoever did them. Breakfast was very well catered with a good selection of items. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Shower was boiling hot and it took a while to get it to sub-volcanic temperatures, but better than being freezing cold. I had a job interview the next day, and the location was very convenient for arriving in good time.

Limited options in the evening bar menu. It is a ‘real mans menu’- burgers, etc. The only thing I can eat is fish and chips and have to do again as no other option for me and also it is excellent fish and chips!

There were one or two guests in the hotel that were unusually noisy and rough Folk are folk but I did not expect to book an executive room in an otherwise very good hotel and find them screaming banging doors etc That said it was just 2 guests and when I complained to the hotel about the noise they were very obliging and moved me to a quiet and better room
