Set in the grounds outside the zoo, my Mrs was a little skeptical and would not look out at night lol, you have to stay there to understand it (think the hills have eyes). Room itself is fine with no issues, could do with being bought up to date but in this day and age with the cost it would take, i can understand why it has not been done. Room has everything you need, breakfast was brilliant.

Really poor wi-fi.

Comfortable, staff very good, super location for my trip. Reviewing this is difficult as comparing it to more expensive hotels would be pointless. However. Reviewing against other £60 rooms makes this great value. No complaints, but the wi-fi is pretty much non-existent.

The continental breakfast was not great, very basic

The concept of the rooms being almost in the woods. We had dinner in the evening and it was lovely.

We've stayed on a few occasions but never seem to have a nice room, always at the farthest end of a wing. Location of the room was right at the far end of the hotel again; this time overlooking the laundry collection area. Rooms appears very dated at the end. I did think as we paid a little extra this time that the room would be nicer; Certainly not as the advertised picture on Booking.com! Pillows were awful, either very hard or flat and floppy! Also, no mattress topper. Bathroom sink plug and overflow could have done with a better clean, I never like to see black build up in either, implies not thoroughly cleaned. Only half a toilet roll! Shower was rubbish and very difficult to find a temperature, only seemed to be hot, hotter or scalding, suffice to say, only had a quick rinse down and not a full shower.

Hotel location is great. The room was a good size, bed was terrific, pillows were awful. Breakfast was good, average selection although no veggie sausages. Perfectly poached eggs. Coffee was ok, but not very tasty or strong. Breakfast staff were very attentive. Swimming pool always a bonus. All in all, will probably stay again due to proximity of visiting family.

Room was dated, shower was good but the ceiling was very damp and the shower curtain was too long so it was hanging in the water and blocking the drain

The hotel has gone down dramatically since we last visited really needs a deep clean and up grade of decor Carpets are grubby and spider webs inside the windows Chairs are really quite poor condition No jacuzzi now either Breakfast was nice but soggy toast as eggs not drained

The buildings in which the rooms were situated were baking hot. There is a fan provided in each room, and you can open the windows and emergency door outside (which we couldn't with a toddler who could have escaped). The bathroom and rooms themselves felt dated. The shower got warm quickly but was not very powerful, and the bathroom was a tad cramped but usable. I would say this hotel is absolutely fine if it's a one night stay to do a stop over or just to go to the Zoo!, but not for much longer.

It is a lovely hotel, but it's a bit dated now. We needed a stop over hotel for our journey further on, and this was in the perfect position for it! (If you were visiting the Zoo, of course, this would be the best hotel for it!). It has a swimming pool, which is a great extra if you have small kids and need them to get rid of energy! And the rooms were pretty large!

The bed was extremely uncomfortable with a huge dip in the mattresses also as it was a superior room which we paid more for, not what you need before going to a festival/camping-the bed was the worst part the stay other than our room not being marked as occupied and housekeeping walked in on my boyfriend naked in the morning, not great

The room wasn't very clean, bedding and towels spot on. Shower was not ideal it wets the floor and the head needs replacing.

Room could do with some real decorating. Looked like it’s been touched up several times and not actually fully decorated. Bathroom could do with some new silicone on the bath as was mouldy. Main problem was the noise from other rooms, every time someone ran their water you could hear it so loudly and also flushed their chain you could hear it. When you walk into the hotel it’s so beautiful to see, then you get into the room and rooms just filthy looking. Really needs updating massively. The swimming pool needs a good clean too, there’s a scum line around the pool wasn’t the best to look at while swimming.

Liked the location, room was spacious. Liked the sliding door so you can have some fresh air and you didn’t have windows opposite so you can have some privacy with the door open.
