Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot able to manage heating so room got hot. Had to ask twice for help to manage a ceiling window.
Liked location - near the delightful Oxford Canal walk into the city centre. Also near Summerland ships and restaurants. Several bus routes to city centre and railway station.

ItalyThe kitchenette is equiped with only a microwave, so you can cook just simple dishes.
The guest house is in a very good position: the bus stop is very close and in less than 10 minutes you can get to the city centre. The staff is very helpful and the room was clean and tidy as well as the bathroom.

Belgiumnothing, it was just perfect .
We were in Oxford for a congress. The atmosphere in the hotel very good, it is a family run hotel, and they make you feel like family. They are so friendly! You can ask them anything! Very helpful, they provided us with good information about both the hotel as well as the area and other sightseeiing tips, tips for where to eat, rent a bike, etc. The room and bathroom were large and clean, and cosy, with a frigde and sink qnd microwave . A nice bath and shower; Beds were comfortable, we slept really well. Daily roomcleaning. There are many busses, untill late at night, bring you back to the hotel in 10 minutes from the citycenter. Very convenient, and a quiet place. 5 minutes walk from the hotel brings you to the area 'Summertown' with nice shops, restaurants, bard.

AustraliaThe mini kitchen was handy to prepare a simple meal. Although the room was a little warm at times, there were 2 fans, which were more than adequate. It was very quiet. The canal walk was nearby, which was lovely. There were a number of eateries and small Sainsbury and Tesco stores at Summertown, a 10-minute walk away. The bus stop for the number 6 bus was 100 metres away. It is around 3km in town and takes 10-15 minutes by bus or a pleasant 30-minute walk.

GreeceI expected the single room to be bigger than what I found it was but really it met my needs perfectly as I had no time to spend there except to sleep at night. I didn't find in the room some special lamp I read that all rooms had.
Location was great as on a road going straight to the city centre with a bus stop just across the street. Anita was wonderful, trying to help me find my way to the house as finding the right bus and the right bus stop got challenging. Room had a window to the side road and you could hear a car passing once in a while, but other than that, it was very quiet, I slept wonderfully. Even if the room was small, there were lots of cupboards and a wardrobe with a full size mirror, a desk, a hair dryer, a small fridge, so I found it had everything I needed for my stay.

ItalyGreat location in beautiful leafy neighbourhood. The room/studio was spacious and comfortable, with state-of-the-art very silent fan that made a difference during hottest days/nights. This is one of the several thoughtful touches by the owners and staff. The hotel is run with the kind of distinctive professionalism and kindness that make you want to return.

United KingdomFurnitures are a bit aged. Baby cot is not for free, it needs £20 per day.
Room is spacious and clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is not located close to the town centre however the bus stop is just one minute walk from the hotel, and the route can bring you to George Street (town centre) in around 10 mins. I just left the car in the hotel and took the bus to save the parking cost and time to find a car park.

United KingdomSuch a spacious room with full of amneties and a great deal for the price!! Nice location with car parking available. It's a very nice hotel for anyone who is visiting Oxford. The best part about the place were the hosts. Such amazing couple. When I couldn't find a taxi and was getting late for my first day of work in a new company, the host gave me a ride! Such an amazing gesture. I am always going to stay at this place whenever I visit Oxford. Highly recommend!!

United KingdomNothing. It was great for us.
Easy access with parking. Clean and comfortable room and the kitchenette to make a breakfast a bonus. We chose to walk into Oxford centre along the canal path, which took us 45 mins, was a beautiful corridor to the city. After a full day's sightseeing, we took the bus back. Only a 10-minute walk to a choice of eating places in Summertown made it a great place to stay.

United KingdomWould have been preferable to have a window that easily opened in the bathroom, especially as the extractor fan didn`t appear to be working. Weather was very hot, temp in the high 20s, so a window would have saved the bathroom becoming very steamed up. There was a window but velux type which couldn`t be reached and looked like it hadn`t been opened for a very long time. There is very limited parking on site, we knew at time of booking that on-site parking was not guaranteed. We parked on the street around the corner. This was safe enough, but sections are for permit holders or only free to others within certain hours. You can`t leave your car there all day. Neither of the above comments would put me off returning, as I would happily do so.
Very quick and easy check in, polite and welcoming staff. Our room was quiet, bed was very comfortable, daily housekeeping if required (we didn`t use this, by our own choice) Plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Great shower. Fan in room was useful as the weather was very hot. Park and Ride nearby - we drove and parked, but it was within walking distance so would be useful for those without a car, for getting to the centre of town.

SwedenThe bathroom window in my room was broken and would not shut properly. I am sure, however, that this must have been taken care of by now as the bathroom felt cold because of this and it was slightly unsafe for a ground floor room too.
A lovely family-run hotel in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood just a short bus ride from the city center. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The holistic aspect of the accommodation was an extra bonus.
