Marlborough House was homey and felt very warm and welcoming. Very generous sized room and lovely kitchenette and great bathroom. Many nice little touches giving it a lot of character. Great staff who helped me with my luggage and called me a taxi when I left. Out of the busy tourist centre of Oxford but only a short walk to the lovely Summertown cafes and restaurants. There is a direct bus into the city just across the road. Also handy for canal walks and strolls on Port Meadow. I will be back. Especially nice for solo travellers.

    Can’t think of anything.

The family room we chose was very nice. Everything was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The location is nice. It’s a short walk to summer town where there’s lots of restaurants and shops and a short bus ride into Oxford city center. The bus stop was right outside the property entrance.

All good. We took the advice to turn up in good time to make sure we got a parking space, which is ample as long as other people don't have massive cars...

Spacious, clean room, well equipped with a microwave and crockery/cutlery. Great location to catch the bus into Oxford. Near the Oxford canal, which is a nice place to walk. Even though we had a room overlooking the road it was not noisy. Great to have parking on site.

    Everything was great.

We loved everything! From the holistic atmosphere, to the quiet & peaceful area. They had a backyard to relax in (wish we would have stayed longer to experience the backyard). Truly comfortable beds, and the water pressure was great. The lady at the counter (apologies for forgetting her name) she was so kind and down to earth. She was very helpful. If we ever go back, we will be staying here again! Parking was right in front of the building, felt safe and well lit. We arrived after check-in hours, no issue at all getting keys and access to our room. 100% recommend to stay here! Very close to Oxford, less than 10 minute drive to the University.

Bathroom would benefit from a shelf for storage and mixer tap on sink but it was perfectly adequate for what we needed

Room was perfect for what we needed, just somewhere to rest and sleep while visiting family and looking round Oxford

No breakfast room, breakfast is brought to your room the night before, so no tasty full English. But there are a lot of possibilities within walking distance.

Clean spacious room with a kitchenette which permitted us to make our own breakfast. Nice bed, thick towels. Nicely decorated house, with even a little sitting room. Warm carpet everywhere. Very well situated, the bus to the center stops almost in front of the building. The noise of the busy road in front was no problem at all. Car was well parked on the small parkinglot in front of the house.

Would have been useful to know what facilities exactly are in the kitchenette, eg I brought slices of bread hoping to make toast for breakfast, but no toaster - which is fine now I know, and I made porridge in the microwave instead!

Clean, comfortable, friendly, not overheated. Hot water reliable, shower easy to use. Bed very comfortable and roomy. Relaxed atmosphere, safe. Table to sit at to drink tea etc.very thoughtful. No hidden extras on payment.

There are ambiguities in the description of the property which need to be clarified in the write up. 1. It appears that breakfast is included and supplied to the room. After having booked, one is asked to pay for breakfast. 2. It would seem that parking is avaliable. However there are fewer parking places on the property than there are rooms. So first come first served, especially on weekdays when the parking on the adjacent street is not available.

Clean place in a good location, efficiently managed

The hotel is comfortable and staff friendly. Decor is a bit dated so not for those looking for a boutique hotel but it's functional and fine and much more space than you get in a central Oxford closet of a hotel room

Spacious room, free parking, and very close to bus that takes 5 min to get to central Oxford. Also near Summertown shops and cafes. This is a much quieter area than Cowley Road and quick to Jericho area and center of town
