Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWardrobe space was inadequate for 2 people for a week; had to live out of suitcases. A chase long under the tv cabinet which was useless and no chairs. Had to read and watch tv lying on the beds. Otherwise everything was excellent.

The location was perfect close to everything we wanted to visit. Our room was lovely. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The views from the Sora Sky Bar were stunning. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order using good quality produce.

United KingdomThe shower was flooding and not draining..We contacted Reception who told us twice that someone was one their way to sort it, but we had to ask again after we returned from our evening out so it was temporarily sorted at 11pm, when we reported the problem at 5.10pm.
Location is excellent and a short walk to York City Centre. Our family room was big and spacious, more like a Suite.

United KingdomIt would have been nice as a resident to have been able to access the much lauded roof terrace for a cocktail which is why I booked it but it didnt happen because the roof terrace was apparently already full when we tried to access it- it would be nice if the hotel let you know you had to book a slot there in advance if only for a short time after spending all the money on the room. Parking interesting - we had a family car and parked as recommended in the NCP carpark really close near by. The hotel get a great discount of 29 % on the car park but with the structure of the carpark if you have a family car you need to be very careful and/or be a very confident driver . We had an SUV and it worked fine but the margins for error are a bit challenging
Travelling to York with 17 year old, Family room fantastic - teenager had a converted double sofa with a tv in a separate area to ours and there was a great ablution area of bath shower toilet and storage area that could be cordoned off from both sleeping areas . As parents we had a huge bed and tv and temperature control for a warm summer night was set at perfect for sleeping. Had a great nights sleep. 17 year old slept very well in their area too.
