Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot much as the room was perfect and roomy, and fitted out to a good standard. The bar looked a little tawdry, but I say that without even going into it!
The wonderfully warm and understanding greeting by the receptionist - full of understanding [one of us had injured his knee in walking from Oxford to Reading over the previous 3 days], and clear explanation of why it was beyond her's or Malmaison's powers to cancel his room given that he had to return home for treatment. And she then asked after my friend when I checked out the morning after.

Location is handy for Reading station and the town centre. Despite the central location it is quite a quiet area. My room, 218, was spacious and comfortable with a good en-suite bathroom. The decor is a gloomy grey but in keeping with the hotel aesthetic. The staff are always nice and friendly.

United KingdomI stayed in the junior suite and I think that’s overselling it slightly - it’s just a bigger room that can fit a sofa in it. I was surprised by how lacking such a big room was in facilities e.g. hanging space but no drawers or shelves really to keep your clothes. We moved on our final night to a Club Deluxe room which actually had more clothes storage than the bigger room!
The location is great and the staff are excellent and truly can’t do enough for you.

RomaniaI cannot think of something ☺️
It was clean and the room had more than decent size, we had space for our luggage. The staff was very helpful: we had breakfast included but we had to leave early in the morning, before breakfast began and they asked the kitchen to prepare breakfast for us and brought it to our room in the morning, exactly at the time we requested. The location was great for us, 2 minutes from the train station.

United KingdomThis was my second stay and the room I was given was accessible by lift but then down a number of stairs. The room did not have working or controllable air conditioning nor windows that could be open which resulted in a very warm and uncomfortable sleep. Force luxury boutique hotel the pillows are very poor quality too. Some of the bathroom fittings need attention as rusted and old looking.
Location is exceptional - beautiful building with great security

IrelandCold room upon arrival, even though my arrival time was know by hotel. Free, 'on the house' drinks were not free at all, with barely any alcohol in a big glass of ice. Dated decor.

United KingdomOnly complaint would have been the bar area. The seating was uncomfortable and lacked ambience- we moved out to foyer at restaurant for pre dinner drink.
Room was very clean and relaxing. Despite being very central and next to railway station and bus stop it was so quiet with secondary glass we heard nothing. Stephan? on reception was very helpful during our stay. All the staff very pleasant.

United KingdomParking very very expensive and inconvenient. The station car park is £30 and Q park which they recommend is £25 and more than 5 min walk. Staff at reception unhelpful and dismissive of parking issues. If you’re going by train it’s a good choice
