Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOnly minor gripes here, opportunities for improvement. The bar only had lagers and an IPA. No darker beers, not even cans of Guinness or similar. Seemed an odd omission. The duvet on the bed was too much for the temperature in the room. I eventually pulled the duvet out to just use the cover as a sheet which was more than enough. There was no separate light for the cupboard including the hot drinks and the safe. This meant you need to put all the ceiling lights on to see, which wasn't great for anyone sleeping at the time. Should be easy to fit something more specific.
The building itself is very interesting, consisting of an old Greek church and an adjoining building. It's well appointed, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It was comfortably warm when we were there. There is a bar and a bistro in the basement of the hotel which looked good (didn't try, see below). Location is good, not in the centre of things but only a small walk away; we only walked for the few days we were there. Room was well maintained and had some great tea and coffee options.

United States of AmericaWe wanted a room with two beds but we got a pair of twins that could not be separated. There were issues getting lights to switch on, and there was no outlet near the head of the bed for my CPAP.
The staff were all very helpful, and provided me with an extension cord for my CPAP. When the main elevator was not functioning they let us use the service elevator.

United KingdomNothing.
The welcome at reception was very good, nice chatty receptioniste, able to provide some history and nearby restaurant information. The room was excellent - quiet, clean, well equipped with dressing gown, hairdryer, ironing, safe if one wanted any of those. Bathroom clean, modern.

United KingdomRoom poorly maintained and ceiling thick with dirt and dust nit pleasant.
Jamal in the breakfast dining room was very friendly and helpful excellent customer service skills and mark the maintenance man was helpful as there was a loose wall socket. The spotlights in the ceiling were thick with dirt and dust which I thought was poor as the room should have been cleaned to a properly before guest arrival..

United KingdomOn check-in the individual ignored us for an extended period while they completed some administrative task. However frustrating it may be to have to interrupt an activity to deal with customers, they should be reminded that the people who pay should be the priority. The dining room is very dark and gloomy - brighter lights would help.
With one exception the staff were helpful and attentive. Breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomThe parking was a bit of a walk from the hotel. It would be ideal if you could park at the hotel free of cost but clearly this isn't an option.
Very nicely decorated, comfy bed, great location, parking was good, quiet room, polite, efficient and friendly staff, excellent service at breakfast, high quality food and drink...we had a wonderful stay.

United KingdomA bit too dark in my bedroom- although the room was large and comfortable
Quirky and interesting, like all Malmaison properties. The history of the building is worth looking up, along with some of the internal design features. If you are looking for a step back in time, dim lighting and a central Glasgow location, this is it
