To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomWhen I booked it was me to be a twin room but we had a double bed. Asked for it to be done and it wasn't. Then asked to be upgraded for and extra £40 we went to top floor. When we got into the room the bathroom floor tiles we cracked and the door would get stuck and u would end up walking into it or hurting yourself like my brother did because it got stuck on the tiles and u would have to push it really hard to get in.

FranceA bit far from the city center - 15/20 min walk to reach the castle - good to know if you are not at ease with walking. Also good to know : Google maps took us to the parking lot, not the front entrance of the hotel - so check the exact address before doing a detour
Very nice hotel, clean spacious room - the team even gave us an upgrade which was very sweet ! We had a great night - and we’re almost sorry to stay just one night !

Large hotel that has been modernised and upgraded. Pretty unprepossessing from the outside but pleasant inside. Large corner room on 6th floor with views across thr city from floor to ceiling windows.

United KingdomChanging area for the swimming pool/gym was dirty. Same towels on the dirty floor when we came in and when we were leaving. Such a shame as the pool/sauna was great.
Staff were excellent, particular Kate who was 5*. An active listener, responded to the issues over both days. She was really helpful and genuine. Food was also very good.

United KingdomRevolving in reception doors broken, telephone not working in room, poor communication from staff e.g telephone fault inspector suggested a change of room but never came back, breakfast staff had us down in a different room that was never offered. no central heating in room and small portable rads instead, additional costs for spa, additional costs for robe and slippers that were not delivered to the room, had to search for the slippers hidden in top treatment room.
