2 out of 4 elevators were not in use.

Some lifts not working , I understand re maintenance, but when you are on the 15th floor it can be irksome .Windows were filthy , could hardly see out , again obviously difficult to clean.

I made a booking directly with the spa and upon checking in, the member of staff said I needed to pay to use the facilities as an extra, I did explain that I had booked directly with the spa and this wasn’t needed and she was a bit hesitant upon checking in. A check with a manager was required and it was fine in the end. We booked a double bed in the room, which when we were sleeping, I fell through the crack inbetween what seemed like 2 single mattresses pushed together, this was severely uncomfortable and woke me up through the night. Myself and my partner had to sleep on the seperate singles and not wiggle too much together. When using the spa, it did state no reservation for the beds, there were around 6 beds in total around the pool with towels on (no one on the beds) myself and my partner had to sit on the side of the pool on the floor, and people came back to their beds after around an hour (after they had a spa treatment, used the gym, sauna, steam room and pool) this was not monitored

I booked a room via booking.com, and Mercure sent me a message to add breakfast into my booking for a discounted price which was fab. Room was lovely and clean and had a fan in, quick and easy check in, lift to room was accessible. There was a huge party on downstairs and we didn’t hear a thing (we were on floor 9). I booked a package with the spa the day before and it was lovely. A back massage and use of the spa facilities.

Air con could.have been a little better in one of the rooms we booked and parking could.be a problem as limited, so cannot be guaranteed.

Didn’t like that the hotel had put an extra charge on to use the pool . Booked that hotel specifically for the pool ( we didn’t pay as the charge was not added to the website when we booked and was a recent change) We wouldn't book the hotel again just for that reason alone as expect the pool to be part of the cost of your stay. The hot water is so hot which is not a bad thing apart from need a sign to advise this as one of our party did scald themselves. It is very hot.

Breakfast was lovely.. liked the flavoured water available in reception. .staff helpful. We requested a room on a lower level due to mobility issues and were very grateful that we were given one.

Someone had been smoking in the corridor and it was contaminating my room. Confusing to get out - there were stairs that led to nowhere!

The parking was not ideal and was extortionate. And the first come first serve basis is very ridiculous as we were paying £21 a day for 4 days only to be told that the parking wasn't guaranteed and we weren't really able to take our car very far out because of this silly reason.

Loved the hotel and the room, very clean and a great location. Will revist and book again.
