Issue with tine of the bar closing. Large am ount of guests who had been waiting turn away . Where told they could get room service by one member of staff and then told by another staff member that there was no room service. The bar manager was not very helpful.

the manager at the bar in the evening didnt help the poor barman out at all, as useful as a chocolate tea pot, the manager had no idea what he was doing! there was a big queue waiting to be served and he did his best to make himself look busy, I think he thought serving drinks was below him! The barman did an excellent job in very difficult circumstances

Shower in the bathroom was quite tight to get in and out of as door was very small. There was no dressing table to do hair and make up. No biscuits were provided on the coffee tray. The hotel is a shirt walk away from the train station and on one occasion I was woken early hours of the morning with a train entering the station blowing its horn.

Upon arrival we were upgraded to an executive suite. The room we were given was spacious and the bed was big and comfy. We had a nice sitting area on our room and has robes, slippers, coffee machine and a fridge with water.

Work going on was quite disruptive and noisy and although this was made clear before the visit it was more extensive that expected. Eg scaffolding outside the window. This wasn't reflected in the price with it still being an expensive stay.

Reception staff not knowledgeable at all about local area and transport links to ethiad arena etc. Also couldn’t order room service as phone not working!

The lack of staff on the bar of a Sunday evening, we returned from a show at the co-op arena. There was a queue (which we joined) for the bar and people had already been queueing nearly half an hour. 2 young people are working behind the bar and the service was very slow, after people had queued for half an hour or more they were told that the bar was now closed at 11.30 and would not serve us. The manager of the bar was no help at all and not interested that people had been left for half an hour queueing up. The manager literally closed the shutters on the bar & told people to use room service!! absolutely disgraceful customer service. If they did just got on and served people in the queue they could’ve closed, but instead he chose to stand waste time and argue with the queue of guests. People just wanted a drink to sit and reflect on their evening and their stay at the hotel.

The evening menu did not have a great deal of choice so they did allow us to mix the menus day/evening. Did think the chicken was overpriced at £19 for just a chicken breast and two potatoes. No veg included

Our room was very disappointing I know they are due to do renovations but they shouldn’t charge over £200 for a room with a stained carpet and very tired decor. I personally think the carpet in that room could be replaced for a small cost until ready to do the whole floor.

Staff were lovely especially check in staff and bar staff. We had a lovely meal in the bar fish and chips which were amazing. Breakfast was also very good. Bar and restaurant were lovely decorated to a very high standard. Location good and parking easy.

Bar meal of fish and chips 4 of us had which none of us ate much as fish ok but chips awful. Paid cas for rooms had to pay extra?100 deposit. Getting it sorted next day to get it back when leaving took a lot of sorting!!Also many people couldnt find hotel!!!

Food was not really 4*… breakfast the first day was not replenished and tables slow to be cleared. Evening bar food was cold, we sent it back and the plate came back baking but the food hadn’t been reheated! We were in a hurry so didn’t follow it up further.

Great position close to Piccadilly Station and Metrolink. Comfortable room. Helpful reception staff.

I can't believe how much Manchester has changed since I last visited & not for the better.

The location was excellent with its proximity to Piccadilly Station & it wasn't too far to walk to the shops.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room attendants also greeted you. It was a lovely room, very spacious and clean. We also got an earlier than anticipated check in which was wonderful.
