Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe check process was very stressed. We knew were early and just wanted to walk the grounds and had no expectation of a room being available however my wife felt she was dealt with in a very rude manner. Also that is our 7th night staying and still have yet to see Michael Caines. This is disappointing as we love the relationship building with our favoured establishments.
The food was superb both in the evening and for breakfast. The young man working the bar was great fun and determined to provide the best Bloody Mary cocktail he could. He even followed up after our meal to give me an example of sake and yuzu to make a better textured drink. Always thinking, I love that. The temp sommelier with lovely designer round glasses was a delight all evening and even came to see us as we checked out. Daniele Lanciano works so hard and is a great example of a top notch manager. The head chef Jordan Denning was great when we were shown around the kitchen and pass and gave us time even though they were busy.

United KingdomThere wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Lympstone Manor Hotel is set in the most beautiful peaceful & tranquil location, the estuary that surrounds it is stunning. The staff are friendly and kind and always at hand if you needed anything seen to. Our room had incredible views across the estuary and the beautiful well kept gardens. The king size bed was so comfortable, the best I have ever slept in. We had a fabulous evening entertainment with the Shanty Men, in the pool house restaurant, along with an impeccable fish dinner and excellent wine pairing with each course. I had the great pleasure of also meeting Michael Caines, Michelin chef who is such a kind and lovely man. Lympstone Manor offers luxury, a place where you can enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it, a place to celebrate a special occasion. I can’t wait to return.

SwitzerlandOn the 2nd day we went to the Pool House. Unfortunately this was not so good. The fillet beef was well done and after complaining the second service with the fillet beef was rare or not cooked. Too bad for the meat
Simply beautiful location and easy to reach. 1st day with Michael Caine's menu was more then great. Simply fantastic and the staff were also very attentive.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to love.
What an experience! Though we stayed only two nights, we both felt as though we had been there for weeks, such is the slow pace and relaxing atmosphere at Lympstone Manor. The food (we experienced Michael's signature tasting menu, a champagne afternoon tea and the included breakfast) was every bit the wizardry that you would expect from having such a respected and commended figure at the helm. The staff could truly not do enough for you in every instance. The rooms were the ultimate in luxury; the beds extremely comfortable and we LOVED the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Another highlight was the new pool and pool-house. I thoroughly enjoyed my nice warm swim on a beautiful February day. As a final added bonus we had a lovely chat with Michael who was so lovely. Both of us feel so calm and relaxed as a result of our short stay and can't wait to return!

United KingdomThere is nothing to reference Michael Caines (other than the exquisite food of course) so it does feel a little corporate… A minor niggle but having stayed at many wonderful hotels around the world, this felt less like an English Country house hotel than perhaps it could? It lacked those little touches you find at a Polizzi hotel or The Newt or The Goring. Sparkling clean. Warm. Welcoming. Just a wee bit bland… You did ask!
Exceptional service from everyone.

United KingdomThe house is very tastefully decorated, it’s not fussy or minimalist but perfectly welcoming. The views were stunning from the house and our balcony. The staff were extremely friendly from the front of house to the waiting team. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone we met. Johanna went out of her way to make us feel at home and was really hard working taking on a number of roles to make our stay comfortable. The 7 course tasting menu was delicious and the female Sommelier gave us some great advice on a wine. Our room was an upgrade for our anniversary which was much appreciated and we’re looking forward to coming back to discover more of the rooms.

United KingdomThe staff were delightful. Everyone from the receptionist to the waiting staff in both the restaurant and the pool house were very friendly. Some other high end establishments can be a bit “stuffy” but we were made to feel very welcome and at ease. The food of course was sublime and the views over the estuary enhanced the feeling of relaxation. Can’t wait to return

United KingdomWhen booking it was unclear what rooms were allowed dogs and the shepards huts were not detailed this I feel is a misted opportunity
The setting for Lympstone Manor was simply divine and the views were absolutely beautiful. Lympstone Manor caters for all including pets and food allergies they literally could not do more for us. The shepards huts are simply amazing and we're very cosy again with views across the vines up to the Manor.

United KingdomThe Shepherd's hut is great for a family with small children but not suitable for 3 adults really. Although we very much loved our stay here!
The hotel is lovely, as are the grounds and the pool area. The food was wonderful too. A spa would be nice and that would draw us back during the winter months! The staff are all friendly and very accommodating. A lovely hotel to visit and stay at. We highly recommend it.
