Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great location with good walking paths in the area, easy access to buses and trains. Close walking distance to supermarkets and cafe’s. The staff are friendly and helpful.

GermanyThe hotel is located in a quiet street - we slept with open windows - but the underground is nearby (10-15 minutes walking distance) - so you´re everywhere really fast. Everyone of the staff we´ve met was very nice and requests e.g. for more sheets (as friends we were simply not used to share bedding ;) ) were handled very quickly and without any questions. There is also the option to have continental and english breakfast in the hotel. We highly recommend this. It was delicious. Fresh fruit and everything.

FranceOur room on the 1st floor was next to the lift, which mechanisms produced a strange noise, when the lift was in motion. Since the hotel guests were using the lift quite late at night, the noise of the lift didn't let me sleep well.
Convenient location of the hotel: on a quiet street, but close to main roads and public transport connections. Modernised / renovated bathroom was significantly larger than in other London hotels of the similar price tier.

Could do with a new rubber guard on the shower door as the that was very discoloured. Very handy to some pubs and local rests, also easy walk to Gloucester Road tube and Kensington Hist street.

South AfricaIt was super hot! The heating was way up and we were not sure how to turn it down. Had the window wide open to try and cool down the space. Felt that using the aircon to cool the room would be bizarre. ;-)
Our room - 43 - had a view over the city rooftops, which was lovely. It was off the street so no street noise. Also at the end of the passage on the 4th floor, so lovely and quiet.
