Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNature is AMAZING!! On the narrow road leading to this accommodation, we stopped the car several times and admired nature. You can see highland cows, deer & sheep. It was really beautiful. The accommodation was warm and comfortable. The staff were so kind and nice. We would like to come back!

AustraliaWow! What a unique property. It really is in the middle of nowhere, perfect for hikers or someone wanting an escape from the busy world we live in. However I would reccomend a 4-wheel drive, especially as we go into the colder and wetter months. Rooms were clean, water hot, wifi decent considering it's via satellite and breakfast was lovely. Next time would want to stay longer than one night.

United KingdomWonderful, warm, Highland welcome. Pristine, comfortable accommodation. Fabulous setting. 22 miles of single track road to get there via forest, moor, mountain, Lochs, rivers....incredible scenery and wildlife. A must for all nature lovers searching for somewhere off the beaten track. Best breakfast I have ever had. Can't wait to return. Dog friendly. Marion and Matthew were fantastic hosts.

United KingdomReally loved it! The place has been refurbished recently and it’s really clean and comfortable, quite remarkable given the really remote location at the end of a 22 mile single track road. Dinner (optional at an extra cost) and breakfast were delicious, even though there wasn’t much choice (but again this place is really remote, so it’s understandable). Wifi was good and reliable. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Great place if you look for tranquility and for great hikes.

United KingdomThe midges were a bit annoying.
Great location, really enjoyed the stay and the food. We also liked the remoteness of the B&B, it was a glimpse of a different lifestyle. We saw otters and had a lovely walk.

United KingdomNothing that is fair to complain about (I mean you can't open the windows because of the midges...methinks a tent would have been truly unspeakable!).
What's not to like - you can come down off a mountain in the middle of nowhere and, instead of huddling in your tent to escape the rain/midges (...actually it was 28C when I arrived!), you can go straight to having a drink (or coffee and a cake) in a luxurious establishment. The property is lovely, as are the people who run it.

FranceYou basically have to go through hell to get there. It's a 1h drive from the nearest town, on a single track road that gets progressively worse as you go on. But if you're ready to face that, the sheer beauty of the place is definitely worth it.
The absolutely stunning walk near the B&B along the loch, the kindness and hospitality of our host, the delicious porridge as well the rest of the breakfast.

Really nice and friendly host with excellent recommendations. Excellent breakfast. Nice place to walk around (unfortunately we did not have the time to hike here, but I am sure it would have been a great experience as well). The animals you can observe while driving to/from the venue (hundreds of deers, Highland cows).

United KingdomIt’s a shame there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms though this is explained in the information leaflet and is due to the BnB being off grid. We found the portion sizes at mealtimes very small and were met with an almost hostile response when we asked for more- we were even willing to pay extra but it wasn’t possible. We appreciate the distance from shops, but it might be good to offer guests the option to order either extra or larger portion sizes in advance, especially if they are undertaking the long distance hike which passes the BnB or otherwise out in the mountains building up an appetite!
Warm welcome and comfortable, large room. Travel cot available for little one though no high chair in tea room. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Location is just beautiful!
