Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom was quite warm with the heating on, which of course is a bonus but we ended up opening a window which is a bit of a waste.
We booked one of the dog friendly rooms, and it was perfect for us. Not too precious that you'd worry about having your dog but clean, comfortable, plenty of space, great bed and lovely bath. Good breakfast both moorings. Great meal in the hotel restaurant one evening and hotel has both wine bar and cellar bar for variety. Such a beautiful location too, we spent the weekend walking part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path which is stunning. Love the secret garden too.

The breakfasts were delicious. Lovely porridge and a great choice of hot meals too - meat, veggie and vegan. We tried the lot and there were all great. The bar and the cocktails were also fabulous. Very friendly staff and a beautifully converted, comfortable and welcoming hotel. We’ll be back

United KingdomSuper stylish hotel with a personal touch. It is family run so no corporate vibe or souless identikit here, more of a quirky take-us-as-we-are relaxed mood. I was upgraded to the largest room at the top with a humongous bathroom and one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in, with the softest of bedding, slanted ceilings and moody cocoony colours. The breakfast was gargantuan, no other word for it. Plenty of choice and plenty of it. I also recommend eating in the restaurant. Last not least, you are bang in the centre of this beautiful holiday hotspot on the West Wales coast, with everything on your doorstep. I am a return visitor, I guess that says it all!

United KingdomTraffic a little noisy due to close proximity to narrow main road, but that was expected.
Staff very friendly and helpful, obviously well trained. The food was exceptional, some of the best I have ever tasted. Went and told the chefs how much we enjoyed it.

CyprusI was surprised to witness an invasion by two young girl inspectors to look around the property which although polite had failed to arrange a proper meeting in advance. It gave me a negative view of the way the government now works in the UK
Excellent location , breakfast adventure one day but of no consequence. An elegant lady at the reception(I think she is the owner)most helpful about my hired car problem and she gave an air of class to the hotel. The staff intelligent and efficient.

United KingdomWe stayed in room 2 and the bathroom was dimly lit with a shallow wash basin that was impossible to use without spilling water everywhere.
Very interesting and quirky hotel. It had a lovely dining room and a ‘secret garden’ with several ‘dining pods’ Excellent food and excellent wines.

United KingdomParking was a problem as they only have a few parking spaces but no preference is given to staying guests so very hit and miss as they have a busy restaurant and those clients also able to use the small car park. Toilet seat needs a repair as was very lopsided. Would have liked a later breakfast time than was offered.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were helpful.and friendly. Room was spacious and had everything you could need. Breakfast had plenty of choice.

United KingdomParking can be tricky as the space is small. But I’d rather the parking area was small to make room for their beautiful outdoor areas. Worth the sacrifice!
Llys Meddyg is a beautiful building in the most wonderful seaside town. Everything about the hotel ensures a tranquil stay from the simple and straightforward check-in, the cosy rooms stylishly decorated to the best breakfast I’ve ever had in any hotel! If I could stay here forever!! We also ate at the hotel dining room - amazing.

United KingdomNo real welcome on arrival or any information given. You need to watch your head in the bathroom! we banged ours several times - but we are tall!
This small hotel is in an excellent location - Newport is a lovely little town with nice little shops, pubs and galleries and close to a wonderful bay and beach and great walking. We were in the attic room - which was comfortable with a good size bathroom. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent with good staff.

United KingdomWe booked this Hotel last minute as we were looking for a dog friendly hotel for one night along the coast and we are so glad that there was availability, Llys Meddyg is a gem, the hotel is situated on the main road so easy to get too, they have a car park (albeit a bit small) but we were able to park without any hassle. We booked into their " Secret Garden" restaurant and what an unexpected treat. Photos don't do it justice and the quality of food is outstanding. The staff were very welcoming and all said hello to our dog. Would highly recommend.
