We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe had issues with the coffee maker overflowing the mugs provided on 5 of the 6 occasions that we used it, and that was the only means of boiling water for hot drinks. We also found that the hot water to the shower and basin was erratic with sometimes not coming hot at all or running cold during showering.
Our room had a lovely sea view and was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious with a good selection of cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit along with beautifully prepared and presented cooked breakfasts. We had a warm welcome and the staff were approachable and helpful.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent, all components of the cooked breakfast were very tasty (including the bacon, which was cooked perfectly!). And the view from the breakfast room over to Scotland (and Ireland, one clear morning) was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower worked very well. And Whitehaven is much under-rated, I think. There are many lovely buildings (some of which are in need of some TLC), the views from the cliff top are amazing, and people seemed very friendly.

Excellent location by the harbour. Room lovely. Bonus was the coffee machine in the room and mini fridge with bottles of water. Mini shower gel too. Full English Breakfast excellent. Another nice touch was fridge in breakfast area with drinks, fruit and yoghurt. Perfect place to stay. 10/10.

Everything was exquisite from making the original booking to checking out. Claire and Brian were fantastic and the place is simply exceptional. Excellent location, views, super clean and superb value for money. Breakfast was lovely and they could not do enough to accommodate bikes. Well worth a visit and I will definitely be back. A beautiful property extremely clean, facilities were brilliant. The breakfast was amazing. Everything fresh and clearly butchers produce not supermarket crap, cooked fresh to order. Pots of fresh fruit and lots of choice of yogurt, cereals etc, bread fresh not sliced prepacked., staff very friendly and accommodating, I disturbed them at 9pm and it wasn’t a bother to them. It is by far the best guest house I have stayed in, in the uk.
