The settees in the public areas were stained and dirty and could do with being cleaned!

The location was excellent with a view of the Cathedral and it was within walking distance of the historic centre. There was car parking on site (paid for separately). The buffet breakfast was good and our dinner in the hotel was most enjoyable. The staff were helpful and attentive. The room was comfortable.

i did kike the breakfast but particularly liked the location. The hotel was within easy reach of both the castle and the cathedral. It was within comfortable walking distance of the city c entre too. Overall the location was ideal

Breakfast - I had to search for a waitress to bring tea/coffee, expected to be shown to table and offered beverages Shower projected water on to the floor, no way to prevent this. Lighting in bedroom rather gloomy.

Bed very comfortable and plenty of hot water in bathroom. Lovely large bath towels. Car park reasonably priced and very convenient.

Breakfast ended a bit early for us as we were on holiday and would have liked another hour in bed. Mattress probably needs replacing as it was a bit saggy in the middle.

Room was incredibly dated, looked like it was last decorated in the 80’s if not before. Sink had some hairs, cracked bathroom tiles. Carpet was worn and cheep. The lift was very old too.

The hotel is nice from the outside and the reception area was nice. Staff were friendly Bed was comfortable and I slept well. It was cheep and cheerful. Nice and light

On Saturdayvevening when we came back to the hotel we had to wait for about 15 minutes before the barman came to serve us. Once he arrived he was pleasant and efficient and very polite.

The breakfast was well organised with a wide choice of menu. We enjoyed the cereals, hot food and toast. Our room was large with a comfortable bed and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. The location was excellent for the Bailgate and Cathedral and everything was within easy and safe walking distance.

There was a strong, unpleasant chemical smell in the corridor (thankfully it didn't come into the room). We couldn't get the aircon unit to work (to be fair, we didn't ask for help with this).

The location was perfect for visiting the cathedral and castle. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean with powerful shower and lovely big towels . Food for breakfast and dinner was very good quality and well presented. The staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly.

TV wasn’t working properly, aside from the lovely lady at breakfast who couldn’t do enough, and Paige, every other member of staff we came across was either grumpy or Ill informed! Asked about room service breakfast when I checked in (which I had been advised could be done & a note left on my booking) receptionist just told me “well you have to ring down, which would be fine if there was any intimation in the room as to the number to call! Had to resort to phoning the hotel from my mobile

The breakfast was very good. The location was just opposite the Cathedral. The location of the hotel was in a lovely spot. The people working there were very friendly. Good parking place at the hotel.

Not sure that we were informed that there would be a charge for the parking until the moment we left, but may have missed this information. It wasn't a vast amount but came as a surprise.

Breakfast: Couldn't fault it, help yourself and was plentiful. Room: Unfortunately got a room next to the cleaning/linen store, so bit noisy with doors banging at 7.00 am! Otherwise quiet during night and very comfortable Location: Brilliant and perfect

Unfortunately appeared to be directly above the function area where there was an extremely noisy wedding reception which went on until midnight. We were not warned of this prior to our arrival.

Lovely room overlooking the Cathedral and very comfortable. Fabulous 1960s architecture.
