Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomExcellent location. The shortest of walks into the town centre and to the castle where you can sit and take in the views of the river and viaduct. Loved all the independent businesses.

The property was in a great location for the town centre, with lots of facilities and shops near by. Not far from the station either. The actual apartment itself was perfect, had everything we needed and more.

United KingdomI was concerned that there was no means of escape if a fire started on the below floors. Apart from jumping out or a 3rd floor window. Next to a very noisy pub until quite late.

United KingdomSteep stairs could be difficult for elderly. We are in our seventies and first time up was a bit of a challenge. Minor niggle was the can opener which was difficult to use, suggest take your own if need to open cans of food.
Loved the location and close by parking. Lovely room, nicely decorated and very quiet. Well specified for cooking with microwave, air fryer and worktop oven.

United KingdomShower quite cramped, but I'm only in there for a couple of minutes, so really not a big deal.
Property was great, would definitely recommend. Stairs were a shock (steep & curved) but you soon get used to them. Room is quirky, well appointed & clean. Bottle of Prosecco, whilst not our thing, was a nice touch and more importantly, milk in the fridge! Property is very central, which was great, although I must admit pubs were very busy at nights so keep windows shut (or go enjoy the pub for yourself)! Hosts kept us well informed prior to us getting there which was great.

United KingdomNothing really apart from the lack of toiletries in the bathroom but that was easily rectified by quick shop to the Sainsbury's Local just 2 minutes away from the apartment. We will remember to bring our own next time we stay.
Lovely little top floor apartment right in the centre of Knaresborough close to the market square. We came by train and the train station is under a 10 minute walk away. The apartment was spotlessly clean with plenty of amenities. If we visit Knaresborough again we would definitely stay again at Lilly Pad.

United KingdomIt's not really a dislike but a hotplate would be helpful if you wanted to fry or boil an egg.We had everything else on hand ie airfryer, microwave, mini oven and all the utensils you need.
This is a gem of a place in an excellent location,it was spotlessly clean.we arrived to a bottle of proseco and even a pint of milk in the fridge. You are right in the centre of town with pubs ,coffee shops and takeaways all within 2-3 walk all the attractions are also in walking distance.York was 30 minutes away and Harrogate took us 10 minutes. We will definitely return again at some point and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in Knaresborough.

United KingdomFor us nothing. we do struggle to operate the tv - we cant seem to get anything other than normal tv to work, like you tube or iplayer etc just wont load programs - But i think it might be us doing something wrong and it doesnt spoil our stay.
2nd stay here and hopefully will come again, Lilly Pad is in a great town centre location, close to everything you will need and a short stroll to the train station an also a lovely riverside walk. Great communications with the owners, keys and codes easily accessible, the apartment has everything you will need for a very pleasant stay. There was a small milk included in the fridge which was very much appreciated and a welcome gift which was lovely Thank you. The steps to the apartment are quite narrow and steep so if you have mobility issues maybe its not for you. The bathroom is compact but has everything you need again if you have mobility issues maybe not for you. (has the thickest softest towels i've ever seen ) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return. We would recommend this apartment.

United KingdomApartment was in a great location, the only setback if had to pick one was the stairwell to the upper unit could be a problem if you struggle with mobility. I don't particularly but was careful getting up and down the stairs.
Apartment was in the centre of Knarsborough so great access to all amenities in the location. The property was spotless and had all necessities on staying in a self catering facility. My stay was only a couple of nights and ate out and there are great choices in the area to do so. Hosts very helpful both before, during and on exit of apartment. Was gifted a bottle of Prosecco by Julie, which was a lovely and welcoming thought on entry. Recommended as a place to stay if visiting Knarsborough.
