Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRooms were a bit like uni halls and you could hear people come and go but that is the same as most hotels.
Beautiful setting, lovely grounds. We were there for a competition in Telford and all hotels in Telford Central had hiked up the prices. This was a 20 min drive from where we needed to be. Clean room. Lovely surroundings and fab breakfast. Good value for money. Will stay there next time!

United KingdomBreakfast offering was not great, cold and kept lukewarm for too long (going stale). Staff didn't seem to know about gym access which I paid to access as part of my booking (front desk staff helpful, sports facilities staff less so), long walk to the room may be an issue for older guests or people with mobility issues
Beautiful setting and in a great location. Room was well laid out with all comforts provided for also. Good, convenient parking on-site too. Check in process has much improved since my last visit.

United KingdomThe taps in the bathroom sink were the ones you push and the water blasted out too fast and too briefly, soaking you in the process. The staff were friendly and polite but when we requested more coffee and loo roll for our room, were told it would be delivered but it never turned up
The location and gardens were beautiful, the room was clean, attractive and comfortable with beautiful views of the gardens

United KingdomWent into breakfast at 7:30am, there was no one in the queue. I made myself a tea and saw some colleagues having breakfast, so I signalled that I would join them. There was no milk, so I asked the lady who arrived to fill up the fruit juices, she said that she would fetch some in a minute. Whilst she was gone, I thought I would put a piece of toast on, to be grilling whilst I waited, and so that it would be ready once I had served myself some bacon and eggs. There was no brown bread available, so when the lady finally finished topping up the juices and returned with the milk, I asked her for some brown bread. Again I was left standing and waiting whilst my tea went cold. She finally came back but when I went to get breakfast there were approximately 30 people in the queue waiting for cooked food. Not good. Also the café area ran out of sandwiches on 2 out of 3 days and again a very long queue with a very long wait whilst customers are served. All I wanted each day was a sandwich and a cold drink, but there was a long wait whilst customers were being served with coffees, paninis and baked potatoes, which all take a long time. I would have liked to spend my lunch hour talking with colleagues in the sun, not waiting in a queue. Not good again.

United KingdomWe did not realise that there would be so many steps / stairs to Kent Building top floor. We paced ourselves.
Excellent breakfast with an amazing choice to suit all tastes. Plenty of space between the tables. A beautiful setting in it's parkland and very quiet at all times. Very helpful, polite staff. Plenty of space to park easily and help from David to carry our bags in. For the price we had not expected the room to be serviced but were delighted to return to our room to discover the bed had been made with all our things laid out on the surface by your trustworthy housekeeping staff.

United KingdomThe bed was made up from two single beds and I was thankful as the one of the mattresses was extremely hard. The other mattress was ok but better mattresses are definitely needed. The bathroom light was a movement sensor, so if you went to the toilet in the middle of night, the light came on. Also the shower was tiny, I am a small person but found out it difficult to wash as there barely enough room. There was no air conditioning. It was expensive - over £100 per night.
Perfect location as I was attending the International Watercolour Masters. Room was large and clean. The breakfast was very good. Dinner in the main house was good and good value. The grounds were beautiful and there were lots of places to walk.

United KingdomThe lady at reception was very rude who checked me in to say she is the first person you come across she was awful , very abrupt made me feel stupid so asking questions, this was my very first stay at the hotel . She really needs retraining on customer service. The food from the breakfast buffet wasn’t great the coffee machine only gave one choice and the food was very bland.
The views where amazing, the beds was surprisingly really comfortable, overall really good value for money ,

United KingdomThe central heating was not working, we were provided with a small fan heater, which wasn't ideal for the size of the room, wasn't an issue for us - but may have for others.
Lovely Location and lovely accommodation and staff, who were accommodating to our needs at short notice. Even upgraded to the main house. Breakfast was good and there were lots of choices.

United KingdomThe staff when I arrived were non-committal. Not helpful, even though one had already ent me to the incorrect reception. The first reception encounter was not manned, requiring me to telephone the hotel to be told there was someone there. There was clearly no-one. When the staff member eventually turned up, I was told I needed to go elsewhere. Hee had already told a group they didn't have a booking which was found eventually. The staff member did advise that he potentially could help with my luggage if he got time. As by this time, I had parked some distance from reception, requiring me to walk a considerable amount of steps. After driving 5 hours I opted to do this myself rather than wait an unknown amount of time
After the initial encounter, I found the staff very friendly and accommodating.

United KingdomOn the day that we stayed unfortunately the cafe and bar closed early due to refurbishment. We went for something to eat before the advertised time of closure at 6pm to find it already closed. We felt this should have been pointed out on our arrival.
The room was clean and comfortable with a good view over the lawned areas and well maintained gardens. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice of hot food and continental choices. Good value for money.
