There were too many extension leads in room. As I'm disabled and dont have good balance this was a nightmare incase I would trip over them. Could do with being refurbished

The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Room was very clean

We stayed in room 2. It was tiny if it wasn't for the very high ceilings it would have felt very small. The ensuite you have to walk into side ways. The shower door blocked the shower controls. I had to get in and turn on the shower and stand under a cold deluge until it warmed up. Paper bathmats yuk! Also, the window doesn't open/close properly, so it was either wide open or closed. The bed was a double, most hotels these days offer a king-size as standard, but the room was too small for a king. It had a mattress topper on it, but the matress had seen better days, lumpy and everything on of us moved it made the whole bed jiggle and creak. I think the owner/manager needs to sleep in the room and experience it as a guest. There's been a lot of money spent on the ensuite, but it's not user friendly, the boutique open wardrobe thing with the kettle etc is impractical, I don't want to make a cup of tea where my clothes are hanging. It's got the potential to be great but needs more storage and a better mattress.

Iocation was right on the sea front, plenty of parking for hotel guests, grand old building with lots of character. Room had tea and coffee supplies, fresh water, robes etc. Breakfast was good, hearty and filling, you choose the night before.

Bathroom was very small with no hooks for towels! I didn’t like the disposable bath mat. It stuck to my feet! The bin lid in the bathroom was broken and the shower wasn’t secure to the wall.

Exceptionally clean, lovely helpful staff and the beans came in a ramekin with breakfast! Liked that there were cotton buds in the room!

Nothing of note (they have no control over the weather!)

Overnight pit stop during a motoring tour of Scotland (in the driving rain!) Hotel was had large and spacious rooms. Comfortable bed. We used the hotels restaurant for dinner with family. Waiting staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our food.

No view from our room facing back of hotel.

It was situated in a nice spot close to the beach. We also had a nice breakfast. The hotel itself was a bit tired and rooms basic . Bedding not the best quality but slept well .

Visited previously, the room was still as tired looking as 2 years, shame as all it would take is a coat of paint.

Hotel location and view from room was fab. A good cooked breakfast in the morning.. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We liked the high ceilings and spacious feel to the bedroom with great views of the sea. We were also able to arrange a late return to the hotel after a concert in Glasgow which was a reassuring addition. The hotel is within walking distance of the Arran ferry and the train station to Glasgow. Our early evening meal was delicious and breakfast was relaxed and tasty.

They were getting ready for wedding reception, and we were let out the hotel through the back door, which I felt was odd. Also, last hour before checking out of the hotel, cleaners were standing outside the door and speaking so loudly that we could hear all conversation.

Staff were very polite. Room clean. The food is great. We had a family room facing the sea view. Felt like at granmas house as style of the hotel is more like from olden times which gives them their own look. Overall, it was a great stay at a great location, near the train station and bus stop outside the hotel.

Somethings such as furnishes etc could do with an update, getting worn. But that’s just being picky!

The bedroom could be doing with an update, mostly the carpets and some of the furniture. But with the price of the hotel feel you can’t really complain as everything was clean just needing updated.

It would have helped to have another table or a stand for suitcase as I struggle to kneel on floor and unpack each day. The tea tray would have been better positioned on coffee table rather than on clothes stand.

The hotel was only five minutes from station. Ideally situated with views towards the sea front. Walking distance into Saltcoats and Ardrossan harbour. Spacious room and lovely modern shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent service in restaurant. Well provided with toiletries and dressing gowns.
