Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaUnfortunately there is no AC although there is a fan in the room. It wasn't necessary for us at this time but I can imagine it may be hot in the summer months.
Everything was perfect. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful as well as professional. Onsite parking was one of the reasons I booked the hotel and it was very convenient and easy to access.

United KingdomRoom was on the 3rd floor and was too hot, no air conditioning so we had to put the fan on which was noisy. Limited head height in parts of the room.
Staff very friendly, nice building and outside garden. Good location, close to Bath centre.

United StatesRoom temperature was difficult to regulate and ran warm the entire time. The walk from the elevator to the back section of the hotel with luggage was a struggle. Our shower didn’t drain well but was a nice room otherwise. Also, the back section was quite noisy as doors seemed to slam shut and there was a larger gap under the door so it got loud.
The decor and the vibe of the hotel was lovely. Location was decent but that hill is no joke to walk back up every day. Staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful.

United KingdomOur room was down a little corridor, where we could hear our neighbours talking when they returned to their room. Due to creaky floorboards, aware of the guests above us walking around. Nature of the building I guess, not enough to put us off staying again.
Lovely to park up and walk into the centre. Staff very cheerful and welcoming. Check in and out straightforward. Hotel had a nice feel to it with great looking dining area and bar. Our room was booked as small, but bigger than expected. Cooked breakfast very tasty. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

United KingdomIron was provided but ineffective. Was going to have a drink in the bar after a meal out but smell of deep fried food was very strong.
Room was newly decorated, comfortable bed, good shower, pleasant staff, manageable walk into town, parking for £10 from early in the day prior to check in.

United KingdomWindows didn't open more than ½inch. A long winding route from the lift to the room, with various stairs in-between. I thought booking included breakfast but it didn't. Will have to be more careful next time I use booking. com. Hotel located at the top of a very steep hill.
Lovely room with a great view. Clean and comfortable. Staff very polite and courteous. Bathroom sparkling!

New ZealandSuch a lovely warm welcome by fabulous staff. Lovely old hotel up steep road with ample carparks for a reasonable fee. Easy bus commute up & down Lansdown Road if required. Getting to room with heavy bags was a real mission with very narrow corridors in places, steep stairs all along the way up to Level 3. Reception did offer to carry bags but did not mention stairs and narrowness so we declined their kind offer. Is a very small elevator on ground floor to get you to top floors which helped. Library was lovely & warm, lounge bar well stocked and dining room had large ceiling with lots of light flooding in. Food selection was very good and delicious, as was our cooked breakfast the next morning. Rooms were heated underfloor and slept with a window open. Bathroom was roomy and wellstocked with supplies. Very hot water. Shower was lovely & warm. Thanks to all the staff we dealt with. Was a delightful stay in Bath.

Isle of ManStaff friendly and a nice bar and garden to sit in which we used on a warm afternoon. Hotel was clean and nice atmosphere.
Nice old hotel. My only problem was the lack of air conditioning. I found it very hot in the room despite the fan provided. I would stay again but in colder weather

Love the charm of this hotel. There was a portable aircon unit and fan provided, if the weather is warm. Location is great, close enough to walk to the city centre if you don’t mind walking uphill on return. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The hotel is a little tired in places but we would stay here again.
