Crossing the road between accommodation and reception, bar and food. Gate and road to accommodation didn't have a safe crossing, had to keep watching the road for traffic.

The towel radiator didn't work in one of the rooms. There also rusting at the soap dispenser in one of the rooms. The carpet had a bit of smell perhaps due to dog pee from the previous occupants.

Breakfast was excellent. We enjoy Sebastian - the staff from France making us feel at home every day. We stayed at the Inn for 5 days. The restaurant serves a remarkable cuisine too. The rooms were quite cosy.

Excellent position set back from the main hotel. Very quiet. All rooms immaculate. All staff pleasant and efficient. Great bar and breakfast in the main hotel. Good location for both ferry and bus links to other areas

The pillows were too firm and big. A steep path up to the building which is over the road from the main hotel which could be a problem in bad weather.

We were in the area for a wedding, and this hotel met our requirements for distance to the venue. The room was lovely it was apart from the main hotel and we had our own entrance with a table and chairs outside, it had a fantastic view across the lake and the hills. The location is absolutely stunning. We had lunch on arrival and then breakfast, which was included, the food was good and the staff amazing, very friendly and chatty. We would definitely stay here again.

There was supposed to be Wi-Fi but it didn't reach my room - not a huge issue though. I've stayed in one of the hotels in this 'collection' before and had breakfast in the same place - last time the breakfast was brilliant, this time it was fine but not as good as previously: there wasn't the same selection of pastries as there was before, and the poached eggs on "thickly sliced farm house toast" came out on burnt, very thinly sliced toast.

Lovely room, I requested a bath and they met this request which was great (and the bath was lovely - ran quickly and nice and hot!). Nice to have a smart TV. No noise in the hotel and a very comfortable bed. Staff when I went to check in, check out and have breakfast were all very friendly. Location is great, a few minutes walk from the lake.

Lovely little place! I've stayed here a few times now. The breakfast is really good, the restaurant is huge overlooking the lake with goregeous views.. Beds are really comfy, and it's good that they have dog friendly rooms. Everything is within walking distance. I will be returning again :) The staff are great and make you feel very welcome.

Problem is that the lovely hotel has been taken over byt a consortium so you have to check in at teh Waterside and have breakfast there instead of at the hotel. Parking spaces limited

The place was just fantastic we were in one of the hideaway suites it was fabulous so comfortable would highly recommend the hotel it really was amazing, the staff were so welcoming and nothing was to much trouble will most certainly be going back.

Breakfast was included and it was quite good . There are many options in the buffet for bakery items, fresh fruits, juice, cereals and cold meat. Also there are hot items which are served on the table which were just too good !

Nothing could have been improved( apart from the price of drinks in the bar!). We also didn't appreciate that our booked rooms were actually in the annexe, which is across the (often very) busy main road into Ambleside: not a big issue given the sunny weather, but I feel it could be an issue in rainy or inclement weather conditions, having to walk down a steep driveway, across the road, and then round to the front entrance of the hotel. nWe will ensure that we book rooms in the main building when we return.

The level of service from Chris( the manager) could not have been better- the professional efficient way he dealt with an issue in our booked room was exceptional. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient and couldn't;t have been more helpful

Brilliant hotel and the Lakehouse was an idyllic location with a great view, very cosy room! Super friendly and accommodating staff made the stay really enjoyable , I had a very relaxing evening with a great tea time meal before my marathon !

The parking is a bit tight so maybe rent a small car if possible, but having free parking on site was great!
