    Nothing

Ample parking just off the main road. Friendly welcome, despite the bar and restaurant areas being very busy (Friday night). Substantial Scottish breakfast.

    There is some road noise.

A good pub, staff are very helpful. Plenty of parking, and the wifi works well in all areas. The rooms are clean and a good size. Restaurant on site.

Terribly noisy street and traffic just under our window. Lucky we could close it as it was autumn but in the summer, not so sure.

Good beds (very important for travelers). Delicious breakfasts. Try the Haggis too. Very good. Bus 31 just outside the door and bringing you to Prince's street in about 25 minutes. Didn't seem that long as I used the time to 'study the locals' Hi, hi,hi

Nothing surprising - all was OK - Ottawa room in a pub, so don’t expect glamour!

It’s a local landmark pub in a lovely location with a friendly staff.

Very noisy because all windows are facing the main street and the street are very busy for transportation. The toilet is very small and very inconvenience.

The twin room we stayed in on the first night had a really tiny shower. Was able to move rooms for the next 2 nights and room and bagg to groom lovely.

Good location as easy access into Edinburgh by bus or easy drive to P&R train station. Easy access to the Scottish Borders by car. Staff friendly and helpful. Good good for dinner and breakfast.

If I'm being fussy there was a bit of dark dirt in some of the bathroom corners, totally understandable in a place of this age but room for improvement.

Very clean bedding / towels etc. Hearty breakfast included. Comfortable bed and pillows.

The staff were very helpful and very welcoming . However it was disappointing and caused me a lot of inconvenience that there were no essentials ( shampoo, shower gel etc ) in the shower . I only went for a shower in the morning so didn’t get chance to ask . The breakfast was sparce and a very small portion , could be more substantial . A shame about shower and breakfast , as a lovely place with friendly welcome
