Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWeren’t topped up with tea or biscuits after our first day, found a packet of cigarettes and some socks under the bed that weren’t ours, rooms were super hot and no aircon and it wasn’t particularly warm outside especially overnight (September stay). Terrible WiFi and not much phone signal so would have been no good for a business stay if I needed to work. Not great for the money. For the cost I would stay elsewhere next time
Good location (but no car park). Comfy bed, nice shower pressure.

United KingdomThe reception was oddly staffed. No permanent staff so you ring a bell. Having waited a while someone would come, often eating their tea/breakfast behind the desk. At nearly £200 per room this didn’t feel very special. Some staff great. Others looked bored.
Great location. Really stylish rooms if a bit hot. Great bar next door.

United KingdomWe arrived less than an hour before check in and the room was ready but we were told we would have to pay £15 to access. However we did get a drink down the road and when we came back our bag had been taken to the room so all good in the end. The AC unit belongs in a museum and is very noisy. We didn't want the windows open at night on a Sat as it was noisy but putting on the AC was also noisy and it was too hot not to.
Room and bathroom size. View and location.

United KingdomGreat location; near to the shops, pubs and clubs! We parked on a small carpark a little further down the road from the hotel (County House) which was £12.50 for 24 hours. The Blind Rabbit, Pitcher and Piano and The Magic Garden are all great places to visit for drinks and I'd recommend visiting Copper City for breakfast *chefs kiss*. Hotel staff were great, room was nice - we had a good view of the churchyard from our window too. We would definitely revisit here!

United KingdomThe only concern we had was the room was stiflingly hot on an already hot day. We couldn't open any windows as we had a ground floor room and we were puzzled as we found the bathroom towel heater switched on and red hot. There was a small fan in the room which was very welcome indeed but a portable air conditioning unit would have made all the difference.
The room was exactly as advertised and very comfortable. We both slept very well. For breakfast there was everything to eat a person could possibly want, we didn't need to eat again until late in the afternoon. The central location couldn't be better and The Court of Justice Museum is directly across the road.

United Kingdom30 pounds for an early check in fee is not great. Lots of people were getting ready for weddings there before 12 and due to the location it's likely this is common. So letting people into their rooms early if they are ready to be used would have been better than them getting ready in the hall or downstairs toilet.
Great location and not loud at all even though it's in the hub of lace market. Really comfy rooms with good air con and bathroom facilities. Rooms are big too with period features. The lift up to the higher floors is useful as the stairs are steep due to high ceilings. Overall very good room
