Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe beds were very soft, after walking all day a little firmer support would be nice. It does add an extra 2 miles to your walk so plan accordingly.
We were greeted with a glass of cold water, which was much appreciated after 16.miles on the wall trail. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. The room was a good size and had a seat at the window. We didn't need them but lots of.heaters and drying racks.

United KingdomIt just needs to be made a little clearer on the advertisement that the Bistro is not open on some nights so you need to goo out of the property to eat.
The Bistro is a great place to dine and the food is superb served by the very attentive staff. An excellent stay.

United KingdomHad a lovely time, but booking.com said that the breakfast was £15.00 per person therefore £30 for both of us), in actual fact we paid approx £40 for both of us. The breakfast menu was individually priced.

United KingdomBetter TV, or perhaps the remote needs checking not very responsive. The en suite was cold as no radiator there. Minor quibbles though.
Warm welcome. The room was spacious and warm. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and the dinner we had there was very good.

United KingdomOnly that it was a little too warm but otherwise no complaints, we are planning on returning.
We had a lovely welcome from Subash and although we were early our room was ready for us. We had the King Garden Room (no.4) and would book it again or No.3 as these overlook the rear garden. The choice of breakfast was good and we had this on the 2nd morning of our 3 night stay and we liked the fact we paid for breakfast when we had it. This gave us options as we were out early on the other mornings and found it easier to pop to the local Spar. We didn't eat in this time as again our evenings were already accounted for but we will definitely try the food next time round. Our room was ideal for our stay, although a little too warm as we couldn't turn the radiator down. We loved the quirkiness of the room with all the various bits e.g. a telescope, book case etc.

United KingdomI've had stronger showers, but the en suite facilities otherwise well stocked; power sockets were supplemented by extensions - but very much a home from home in my case! Little to dislike, to be honest ☺️
Rooms are of a generous size, allowing comfortable furniture of character. Windows are modern, but respectful and to a high performance, despite being a historic building. Breakfast, though not included, was excellent, on both mornings. Due to being with friends with different tastes, evening meals weren't taken at the integral restaurant, although the menu looked very good, with reasonable prices, typical of post-pandemic UK. Wylam is a great place, with much to enjoy, including its history, attractions, community, facilities, convenient recreational opportunities and proximity to countryside, all of which contribute to its vitality and character.

United KingdomNil - all good!
Exceptionally warm reception from the manager and all staff, wonderful food and a lovely room. We were on a trip to the North of Scotland and decided to return to the Labernham on our way back - we were greeted like virtual family and had another lovely supper and a great stay. We would definitely return and would recommend this hotel with its very hard working and delightful staff without any hesitation. Please note that the hotel has been refurbished and is under new management and this may account for some previous reviews being less positive - it’s a great place to eat and stay now! It’s also very dog friendly.
