Great seaside hotel in a good location.

Shower tray filled up quicker than it could empty, causing you to stop mid shower while the water slowly emptied down the drain.

Breakfast was very good, quick service from friendly staff. Location could not be better as it is right on the seafront. Room was good.

The only thing was that on the second evening a friend joined me for the evening meal, the price was approx £25 each for main course and drink, the food was good but the helpings where a bit small. We thought we where a bit rushed, the meal arrived about two minutes after ordering,so pre-cooked, tthe bill arived wihin seconds of the plates being removed, we where about the only ones left in the dining room but it was not that late, about 8.30. But it did not ruin the meal,so overall ok.

The room was small but well decorated, the view made up for this as the sea was just across the road. The location was also good being on the front, cant say about parking as I arrived by train/bus. Breakfast was good, I had the full English on both mornings, big helpings plus buffet.

Bedroom was too cold - no radiator or towel rail on for a very cold night. I know in-between seasons so is being cost effective & was told they could only have heating on for whole hotel or off. Typical British weather being very unpredictable doesn’t help. That is the only negative.

Location & great breakfast. Staff very helpful

I wasn’t very impressed with our bathroom facilities 😢 we where in a small double sea front room which was lovely but I struggled being a female for somewhere to put my makeup on and do my hair the mirror was placed up the corner of the room on the wall above a dressing table which housed the tea coffee n kettle facilities so struggled for light and space maybe the wardrobe would of been better placed there and dressing table with tea n coffee where wardrobe is ? My gripe with the bathroom ( being female) was the sink it was so tiny the only purpose it served was to wash hands ! hard to brush teeth or wash face ? and lacked cupboard space to put toiletries etc ! Mirror above light wasn’t bright enough to do make up either and couldn’t use as nowhere to put make up bag etc ! So did find it a struggle if I booked that room again I would take my own mirror !! Expected a proper sink for £212 per night ! Parking was free out front but limited space available as everyone in hotel wanted to park there ! there were parking spaces at back of hotel apparently but I heard people book n pay for a space well in advance of their holidays ? We had to park on the carpark @ £15 per night/day Which cost us. Extra £60 we hadn’t budgeted for 😢

Breakfast was good ! First day was a bit chaotic due to staff shortage so porridge arrived with main fried breakfast and coffee n tea came mid bacon n egg etc breakfast ! But improved the days after Staff though where lovely !

I’m afraid breakfast suffers from serving too many people so it’s a bit hit and miss. Using generic plastic white and brown bread for toast is disappointing and not necessary and no fish/omelette/avocado options was surprising. No lime for a g&t (minor detail Our room was a little noisey in the night and early morning but to be fair we did book through booking.com so the price was reasonable and we weren’t there for the view!

The position, your very helpful, nice staff. ‘Nice’ people are difficult to come by in this day and age. Friendliness is often not very apparent but it is in the Kingswood.

Rooms are a little small and could be better but immaculately clean with all the basics

Lots of seating by the sea view windows and in different areas so always somewhere quiet if you wanted. Location couldn’t be better, close to everything . Breakfast was super, fresh, hot, and nicely cooked nothing was to much trouble for the staff they were first class.

The weather! A couple of days were very windy and wet, but it's England!!!!

Room was comfortable, if a little old fashioned which was weird because the bathroom was very modern and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location, right on the front and just a short stroll from everything Sidmouth has to offer.

It's petty, but one of the curtains in my room was hard to operate.

Elegant minimalism was my impression of the hotel. Both my room and the communal areas seemed to thrive on the surrounding ambiance- the seafront and sunlight (when available). The staff could hardly have been more attentive. Breakfast catered to my preferences, and parking at the rear of the hotel (again, when available) was a boon.

There wasn’t anything we felt we could fault, if we had to pick out anything it would be the portion to price ratio with our main course at the evening meal. But having said that we did enjoy the food.

Room was clean, fresh, and very comfortable. The lounge and dinning room were comfortable, pleasant and relaxed. Our stay has been lovely and we’ve felt very at home during the stay.
