Lighting in the room very subdued, could do with a brighter light available.

Bed was not comfortable, there was a dip in the middle which made for a restless night. Breakfast choice was poor for the price. I ordered the scotch pancakes to be told there wasnt any so i ordered the porridge which was quite frank unedible so i ended up paying £15 for a cup of coffe and 2 toast. I would not have the breakfast again.

It’s not a dislike and it didn’t affect my stay as I travelled alone, but there wasn’t much floor space around the bed. May be worth considering if travelling as a couple or for longer than one night, but it wouldn’t put me off.

The lift was out of order between the 2nd and 3rd floor, which was an inconvenieance, as my mother in law has a heart condition. However, a room change was offered, but the alternative room only had a shower.

Breakfast system felt a bit messy. A menu card on each table stating what was available to be cooked to order and then ordered from the bar would have been good. Two poached eggs on a plate and then get your own toast felt a bit odd.

Lovely welcome from a very helpful receptionist on arrival. Hotel layout well explained so helping us locate our room.

having booked the hotel, despite some lovely pre-prepared messages about secure parking and easy access, the harsh reality which we were not warned about, was the fact the road had been dug up outside and access was very poor with no provided parking, just a message at the desk to an alternative. Shame as I would have changed hotel! In addition, no they did not give rooms close to my son's in fact it could not have been further away. Not my choice next time!

My room was cold and i couldn’t get the radiator to come on. I was too tired to get dressed to go back down to reception to discuss this. I ended up putting on a jumper to go to bed in. Also the window area - window sill etc was pretty grotty and needed a good clean.

Right in the centre of town with on site parking (£5 for 24 hours). Friendly, efficient staff, especially a young man in the restaurant. Accessible room and lifts. Fridge in the room.

Facilities were a bit sloppy. Dirty shower curtain, flush was cracked and barely worked. Toilet roll holder hanging off wall. Then building works outside started from 11pm til early on.

Trying to find way around was confusing. The shower had no grip on base and was very slippery

The charity ball we attended was amazing, the food was beautiful and staff were lovely. The beds were also very comfortable.

Did not wake us up as requested via phone call. No one at reception on check out. Too busy talking in the office. Couldn’t get water for my morphine tablets.
