Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOff-road parking is tricky at first, but became easier with practice ... Driving into or out of the dock You need fear neither timber nor rock; Just obey John’s commands When before you he stands, Watch his hands and apply a full lock.
John St John … Though his name may suggest he’s a saint John will quickly inform you he ain't, But his breakfasts, divine In surroundings sublime, Will give you no cause for complaint.

United KingdomReally enjoyed our overnight stay at Kings. The room, in keeping with the rest of the building, was impeccably furnished in a sensitive combination of period and contemporary styles. A comfy bed and good en-suite facilities. Our host John welcomed us warmly, gave us a good introduction to the place and pulled back the big wooden gate to facilitate private parking. In the morning, breakfast (ordered in detail the previous evening) was delicious and sustaining. En route from Lancashire to Cornwall, we’ve made quite a few overnight stays in the Somerset/Devon area; for my money, this has been the best and most relaxing so far.

I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful establishment and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was not only tasty but also plentiful, making each breakfast a pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the place was commendable. It was very clean and tidy which added to the overall comfort of my stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day. A special mention must be made of John who was most helpful during our stay. He provided us with all the necessary information and went out of his way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. His assistance greatly enhanced our experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend this place for its excellent food, cleanliness, comfortable beds, and outstanding service. I would have no hesitation in staying again.

United KingdomMore heating or extra blankets in the bedroom but John adjusted his heating to suit us when we mentioned we were a tad cold.
Breakfast was fantastic quality , cooked beautifully, tasted lovely, good portion size, host met our dietary requirements with no issues. Room was spotless, nicely decorated and spacious. Had everything we needed just a tad cold for us but the host kindly adjusted the timing of the heating to suit us without us asking. Safe secure parking space just a little tight to get in and out of. John the host was fantastic, very polite, pleasant and happy to help in any way, nothing was too much trouble for him. Location was great right in the centre of south molton and in easy reach of other things and days out. Two convenient stores that are open until late which was handy. Great view of the church from our room.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike.
Rooms were amazing, quiet, warm, massive amounts of space. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. The host was very accommodating and although we arrived late in the day he offered to cook if we wanted to but also recommended where we could go locally for good food. Parking is available but can be tricky depending on the size of the vehicle and if there are parked cars on the street. The King's has secure, private parking which is off street. We were driving a long wheel based Transit van, double cab) and the street had parked cars which made it difficult to park but the host was more than happy to make space on the street for our vehicle which has virtually no through traffic so we were more than happy to do park on the street.
