Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs a cleaner myself I wouldn't have been happy with the cleanliness standard at the lodge. The dust around the bedside tables was thick. The kitchen cutlery drawer had a food stain inside, the mirrors had smears all over and shower door covered in water marks that are easily removed with a £5 glass scraper from amazon and some good glass cleaner and a 50p glass cloth.
Hot tub was lovely as was the lodge itself. Very pretty and in a lovely secluded location

United KingdomThe cleanliness wasn’t great. There were dead mosquitoes all over the walls, some of the crockery was dirty, and we also found some utensils in the hot tub itself. The hot tub in the lodge we stayed at could do with refreshing- there were broken parts on it. The shower was incredibly slippery. There was no raised parts to it to stop any slips so we used a hand towel instead, which did the trick. The drains in the bathroom were very smelly from the moment we opened the door. The beds were adequate and did the job but wasn’t extremely comfortable. Shame the restaurant doesn’t serve food until 6pm, we had a young child with us so needed to eat before then.
The area, the facilities and the lodge itself was lovely.

United KingdomThe double bed was a bit uncomfortable, and the doors very noisy, we stayed with another couple , friends, so going to the bathroom in the night was a noisy experience 🤗
It was in a lovely location, having the lakes and the trees made it very relaxing.! Quiet too.

United KingdomDo not expect this to be a ‘luxury’ cabin as described on the sign outside - it’s a functional log cabin with a hot tub. It was not properly clean - we kept finding socks and other things in random places such as under the sofa.
A comfortable lodge. The hot tub was a nice treat.

Great location by the lake and river. Very peaceful. We loved Kingfisher Lodge. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Lovely nearby walk through the nature reserve coming out into a large park with boating lake, skateboard park, swing park, paddling pool, tennis court and cafe.

United KingdomOnly a slight observation, the kitchen has only basic cutlery/crockery and pans. If you are planning to cook or prepare packed lunches (the oven and electric stove are great) then you may want to bring your own bits; condiments, foil, oil, bread knife etc. We didn’t bring these and still managed fine by making a trip to the local shop. if we come again we’ll just throw our ‘camping box’ in the car.
A cost effective and lovely quiet location for visiting Longleat Safari. The cabin is clean and simple, the hot tub was lovely and well used by us! The site is fantastic. Plenty of quiet paths to explore and the on-site pub and beauty salon are both brilliant.

United KingdomWe didn’t like that parts of the lodge are very broken or poorly maintained such as the bedroom wardrobe door nob which fell off every time you wanted to use it. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly without force and was extremely noisy when trying to lock it. There was mould on parts of the lodge and thick dust in parts! There was a feedback book in the lodge which has previous reviews and as far back as February the broken doors had been mentioned and nothing had been done a month later when we checked in.
We liked the location and the manager was very helpful, glad they provided towels as most places don’t. The lodge was a lot bigger then we expected and you had plenty of privacy from people.

United KingdomThe selling point for us was the hot tub, however after 10 minutes use this stopped working and we could not use it again all weekend, we could not contact anyone about it as there is a £20 charge for this! Double bed could do with being a little bigger
The location was beautiful, and peaceful, lodge was also lovely and well looked after

location and views around ponds were great with a variety of wildlife. Very peaceful and tranquil. Enjoyed the hot tub and scenic walks. The lodge on site was good as easily accessible apart from Monday.

United KingdomThe beds & sofa need updating, very uncomfortable. There are curtains missing from main living areas which made it difficult to relax as it got dark. Attention needed when cleaning; dusty surfaces, rubbish in cupboards, marks on floors.

United KingdomThey’re advertised as luxury, which is far from the truth. The water would switch between scolding hot to, freezing cold. The water in the bathroom sink took hours to drain away. There was a really bad sewage smell from the drains in the shower. The place needs a proper deep clean. Bed frames and behind full of dust. Hot tub is old and run down. didn’t look clean. Missing curtains in the kitchen so everyone can see in. No lamp in one of the bedrooms. No wifi.
