Room was not really clean, mold in the bathroom, very noisy ventilation in the bathroom. Overall price/value not really satisfying.

From what can tell had no safe in room. Also was originally in room 10 and when came back one afternoon was told lock not working and switched to room 9. Luckily had a spare but if not might have been an issue

The Wi-Fi had very poor signal, probably because we were in a lower floor room. But as an international traveler, I need to rely on Wi-Fi to stay connected.

These were things I knew about before I booked but still not happy about. No food on site, no facilities, no communal area. Location - difficult distance for me to walk to from recommended long stay car park.

The bathroom / shower could do with a little THL; some paint peeling and a new shower door guard. The headboard looked shabby as did the other small pieces of furniture. These are not major criticisms and did not detract from our stay, I would still recommend this hotel.

Location was excellent, right in the heart of York but not noisy. The room was a good size for a short stay. Comfortable bed with crisp white bedding and towels. Good selection of tea and coffee, plus biscuits. Staff were lovely and we had a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Also very close to Yorbag, a great place to ‘dump’ your overnight bag/ luggage following your checkout to allow you to continue to explore this lovely historic city until home time.

Headboard area felt old and slightly tatty. Carpet was a bit old and not homely. Would be good if they served breakfast too.

A very warm room even on a cool day! Fans were provided so it was obviously a regular issue. We had twin beds. My bed was very uncomfortable, could feel the springs through it but my daughter said hers was fine.

Excellent location for shops, restaurants & attractions. Lovely welcoming staff & free glass of wine on arrival! Loved the history, decor and feel of the place. Very well thought out and in sympathy with the building.

The courtyard outside the hotel was not appealing but it did not impact our stay or the inside of the hotel

Location was close walking distance to many attractions. The hotel is somewhat hidden and access is through an alleyway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The welcome drink is a nice touch.

Only a view of a brick wall out of our window, plus at 6 am an adjacent business started loading & unloading beer kegs. This was very noisy and disrupted our sleep

Narrow flights of stairs when carrying luggage to top floor . However I accept that’s unavoidable if you do t want to spoil character of building

At 06h00 the next door pub crashed and bashed their beer kegs around the courtyard. Room 2 is right on the courtyard.
