United KingdomThe kitchen could have been cleaner, in that we had to wash the cutlery, mugs and glasses before we used them. I suppose this is because the cupboards were pretty well stocked and it would have taken ages to clean everything before we arrived. Also, cleaning these items is the responsibility of the previous guests, apparently. Can't rely on people who are hurrying to leave. Finally it could be the fault of the dishwasher. We did a quick cycle before we left and had to wash several things by hand as well.
It was difficult to find a parking space on the road outside

United KingdomSmelt Smokey when we came in the door and It wasn’t very clean, the kitchen in particular. We had to clean most things before we used them. Rubbish and used tissues in the garden.
The house itself was fine, main bedroom very comfortable. Lounge was nice and cosy, good entertainment options.

United KingdomOur use of Rose cottage was cancelled on the morning of our first night because the property had been flooded.....We had to urgently make alernative arrangements in order to fulfil our commitment in that aea of Suffolk, that weekend.... We expected some form of communication from Bookings.com and a refund.... But nothing. Disappointing.... I would still welcome an appology and some financial consideration. David.pendle@hotmail.com

From the awful dirty smell, the questionable dried leaves and green crumbs mixed with tobacco in the gaps between planks of the kitchen table (pic 4), to the hairs and stains on the bedding, the cat faeces in the overgrown jungle of a garden. Seasame seeds scattered on the (upstairs) bathroom floor. Brown stains on one of the bedroom carpets. Cigarette butts all over the patio. The place was filthy and humid. Dead insects at the windows (pic 3). Strange white stains on the sofa (pic 1). Smeared glasses. Slippery, greasy kitchen floor. Sticky work surfaces. Hair/dust/scum on the rubber bottoms of the kitchen chairs (pic 2). We were told it was the contractors that had recently been in, but it clearly hasn't had any work done (though the place was in dire need, with exposed electrical cables in the kitchen) or been properly cleaned in quite some time. I was unwell the next day. I hope it was a stress response and not something I picked up while taking pictures of all the nastiness. I could only share 4 pictures here, so I tried to share the best!!! Ha!

United KingdomLocation was great, and although parking looked as if it might be a struggle, in fact it was fine. It would have been good to know that the cottage was the furthest end of the high street from the A12, but I should have read the map better. The garden was lovely, and having breakfast outside on both days was an added bonus.
