Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Finland- Our flight was 3,5h late which is why we checked in 45 minutes late. The staff wanted ONLY CASH or payment straight to his private account for the late check-in. The staff was threatening to not give the room key to us unless we paid straight to him or by cash. We never declined to pay but needed a receipt for insurance reasons! Very unprofessional behaviour, bad customer service. - The decor and surfaces are old and dated. Wallpaper is peeling off, damp and dirty looking bathroom etc. - TV didn't work.

Czech RepublicStaff - I am okey with charge for late checkin but I am not okey about how the staff handled that. Although they presented themselves as card payment facility, we were asked for cash only that we did not have upon arrival cuz we arrived at almost 2am on Sat morning after flight delay. Staff asked us for bank transfer then which coming from different country, was only able to be processed on working day. Staff was really pushy about that even though we offered that we withdraw cash during the day which was not accepted. Once we entered the bank transfer and went on a room, staff firstly called on 7am on the same morning about the bank transfer which we did not respond while obviously still sleeping. So they knocked on our room door around 8am again meaning they woke us up demanding to know why the bank transfer was not yet processed. So we needed to explain again that international payments do not come through during weekend. I mean, really, if they would inform in advance that we need cash for that fee, I would be totally fine but not informing us, presenting themselves as card payment facility and this pushy behaviour was really over the line. So be careful when arriving on late checkin. If they handled the situation in a different manner, I would be okey about this hotel but this kinda ruined it.
Location was awesome. Mainly if you fly to Gatwick as there is direct train to Victoria which is next to the hotel. Many great places for breakfast nearby. Obviously city center so if you travel for sightseeing, this is great location.

United KingdomRoom very small for two people. Shower room was more like a wet room. Wasn't pleasant for 2nd person with floor soaking. Grand for a solo traveller though.
Great location. Handy to tube station and onward travel to Gatwick. Buckingham Palace 10 minutes away and lots of nice bars and food outlets nearby. Would stay here again. Basic but all we needed really. Touring most of the time.

IrelandWhen I arrived to the hotel at 6.30pm for the check in there was no one at the desk and there was no way to contact the staff. I sent the message on booking and kept calling the phone that was at the reception so that a staff member could come to assist us. The staff showed up after 15 minutes. I would suggest to place a sign with a phone number that guests can call in this situations to reach out staff. The bathroom was extremely outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The fixtures were old, the grout between the tiles had visible mold on the tiles and made the bathroom feel unclean. It was clear that the bathroom had not been properly maintained for quite some time. Overall, the state of the bathroom made it uncomfortable to use, and it definitely needs attention to bring it up to a decent standard.

United KingdomThe room was super hot but there was no fan (or hairdryer) as advertised. Luckily the window opened wide (although not idea for a second floor room with a small child in). Hotel is above the tube lines and under the flight path so pretty noisy all through the night - pack your earplugs! Showers and toilets were fine for us, but I suspect a larger person would struggle in the given space.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Felt safe as a single parent with a young child. Decent sized room. Clean sheets, towels, water for the kettle and tea and coffee supplies.

United KingdomIt was VERY basic. Toilet roll was provided but there was no soap, no towels at all so we couldn't shower. The room was quite scruffy looking, it needed some attention to fill holes in the walls etc.
Very close to Victoria Station which is what we needed. Despite being central London the street was quiet overnight. The room was a bit run down with marks on the walls etc but it was clean.

If you get a posterior room you are disturbed by trains coming and going into Victoria station

United Kingdomshower really sucked it was a small room with cold water only and was right on the stairway so i had to balance all my clothes on a clothing peg and prop my shoes up otherwise the water would of filled up and made them wet. also there was some mold inside my dresser so i didnt use that and alot of flies when i came in the room
