Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceBed is made of old springs, not firm at all, leaving us with back pain. There was a carpet in my room that smelled like feet/wet dog, I had to take it out as it was unbearable but the smell stayed in the room. Sockets were not properly charging, there was definitely a problem with the electric installation.
Location is 20 min from the center by foot. It was "ok-ish", rather clean.

United KingdomThe door wouldn't unlock which didn't help my panics (but again this was addressed and fixed quickly!). The duvet was very thick for the summer weather and I honestly felt a bit unsafe in the area.
It was quite easy to find, and my issues where addressed quickly and someone came fast to help me with the door, I was in a panicked state due to my bus being cancelled so it was a good price for a last minute booking! Also really liked the circle window! I thought it was a fun choice!

United KingdomThe outside was unkempt and rough looking. Never saw a member of staff, it was all done by keysafe. Reply to messages to staff about leaving my luggage on the day I departed came too late and I had to haul my heavy pack around all day

United KingdomThere is no parking space, and it makes you worry about your car, which can be left on the side of the road. Unfortunately, my towel was stained, and I was not very pleased with it. We had breakfast included, but it was only milk and cereal, so we remained hungry. We had a double mattress in our room, but it was terrible. Every movement was perceived as in waves.

United KingdomBus not very frequent at night but came on time. Bathroom lock needs fixing. Bedroom walls quite thin. Duvet had soft comfy fluffy linen cover on which would have been lovely and warm in winter but was quite warm in the warm weather!
Right beside the bus stop to town. Felt like a bit of a shady area but felt safe walking in the daytime as a solo female traveller. The Merkinch nature reserve was 10 mins walk away and a pleasant surprise - very beautiful to sit and watch the sunset. Easy check in. Very friendly cleaners! Bed mattress soft and comfortable. Rooms clean.

United KingdomBreakfast items were not stocked up aedequately and timely. Washing was hung up to dry on doors of kitchen. One night there was a double booking quiet late at night and only because a kind hearted guest who was able to stay with family was this resolved.
The bus stop just outside good links to town. Clean bed linen. Good price if you just want to visit someone and not want to spend too much time in the room. Television 😀 self serve continental breakfast.

United KingdomTo start it was difficult to find. The stairs into the property are really steep. But once in we discovered that for four rooms there is only one small bathroom. In addition the kitchen was tired looking with doors hanging at a jaunty angle. There were dirty dishes in the sink and an extension cable hanging there as a trip and electrical hazard. The breakfast included was a very cheap loaf of white bread and some crunchy nut cornflakes. Although it advertised as a hotel, it is really just a hostel. There are no staff on site though other guests said that a cleaner comes in during the day. Extremely poor value for money.
The only redeeming feature of this property was that our bedroom was clean.

CanadaWe'd booked what we thought was a B&B. Didn't get the email to give us instructions entry, room etc until we had wifi later that night after booking in elsewhere when we couldn't get in and no one was there. There was a bus stop out front so we knocked on the door to ask where to park. An email should have been sent with the booking to let us know this was a self catering place, not a B&B.

United KingdomNo outside photo of property, this is because it is so ugly. A converted upstairs flat, so 4 bedrooms. Shared bathroom and kitchen. Shared by upto 8 people. Claims breakfast is provided but this is a loaf of bread, margarine and jam left in kitchen. We left after finding somewhere else to stay instead of 2nd night here. As we left an American woman arrived. We saw her later and she had left within an hour.
Nothing, booked for 2 nights, left after one night

United StatesI honestly can’t think of anything. I wish more tourists stay in places like these and support locals and local economy vs tourist trap, expensive, and crowded places that are owned by non-local people.
I absolutely loved staying at Kenny’s place and my two-week stay felt like home by the kind hospitality of Kenny and Jamie. This is an ideal place to explore Inverness — walkable, private, quiet, relatively affordable, and accessible. There’s fresh breakfast ingredients every morning (fruits, bread, milk, cereal) that makes it easy to start the day. The bus stop is right next to this place. There’s a beautiful Merkinch reserve park just at 10 mins walk to go sit and read and enjoy the Scottish nature by the coast! Jamie keeps the place neat and tidy every day and I very much appreciated her work and getting to know her. Kenny is super nice and courteous and went above and beyond what I’d have expected from a B&B host. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone and will definitely return in the future here whenever I visit Inverness.
