The pillow cases have a very damp nasty smell, as if they have been stacked damp. I have been staying every week for a few weeks now and it has only been the last couple of weeks I have noticed this.

There was only a nightstand on one side of the bed - two would have been nice! At breakfast I ordered porridge and it came as a ready pot which I had to add my own hot water to! My avocado on toast was also just a small slice - not great value for money.

The room was comfortable with a good mattress and reasonable pillows. Appreciated the coffee/tea making facilities. It was clean and quiet.

Overall I was very pleased with my stay and I would use the hotel again, but ask for a room on the upper floor.

Poor sound insulation: I could hear the people in the room above me and got woken up at 5am. I could also hear shower running and toilet being flushed in the neighbouring room. All the doors could benefit from some oil- they all seemed to squeak!

Very comfortable room, with everything that I needed. It was in a good location and with free parking- many hotels in the area don’t have their own. Excellent choice of different breakfasts at a very reasonable price. Attentive and helpful staff.

The hotel smelt like chip fat which obviously cannot be helped with it being above a steak restaurant

The hotel was very quiet, the bed was very big and comfortable

Location is superb , if it’s the Peak District or Manchester City centre your only a short distance by bus or train . The staff are superb and Heaton Chapel has some superb restaurants and bars , and possibly the best craft ale bar in the northwest The Heaton Hops .

If you are on the second floor, the top flight of stairs is very steep - it would have been appreciated if the member of staff who pointed me in the direction of my room had offered to help with one of my bags at least - and I never ask for help with my bags! That being said the restaurant service was totally top-notch.

Comfortable and smart room, extraordinarily good and generous breakfast when included in your room price.

Price hike, stayed on the 23rd August this year with same options £72, couple of weeks later out of the busy period same options £81!! Asked at the bar why this was answered room rates change, really within a few weeks? Was not impressed at all.

Everything was fine as you would expect

The ripped bed sheet A cleaner changed it for us We were staying in room 104 and one of the curtains was off its rail slightly The curtains were an odd design as the track didn’t cover the whole window so let in light

The bathroom sink is too small - only just big enough to fill the kettle. Step into room - appreciate difficult to overcome due to the construction of the floor inside & out of the room. Plus side staff explained before I went upstairs that I needed to watch out for it.

Single room - adequate for my purpose of moving daughter out from halls.
