Unfortunately the bed was really uncomfortable, the mattress was hard and neither of us had a good nights sleep.

The room was well appointed, it looked lovely and we had a great view of the river. The cooked breakfast was really good, big portions and plenty of choice.

Although lovely breakfast was lacking the usual Scottish items (black pudding & Haggis) however i can see why they wouldn’t offer this as most will likely decline these options.

Unfortunately we had a long wait for our cooked breakfasts as there was only one waitress and chef and a lot of people turned up at 8am

We had a large nicely decorated/furnished double aspect room with a large bathroom and walk in shower and one window looked out to the river The room was exceptionally quiet given that it was above the restaurant and one window faced the main road. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was easy to control in terms of water output and temperature The staff were very welcoming and the evening and breakfast meals were excellent

The room had an unpleasant smell which was coming from the bathroom. At times it was quite strong - maybe the drains?The bathroom door was rotting at the bottom presumably from a bathroom flood? That's why we downgraded on ‘comfort’ although a large room it had one small window with frosted glass so very dark

They appeared to be short staffed during our stay, and we had long wait times for checking in and out. Meal service, however, was efficient.

I only wish they had a lift since we had a lot of luggage, but most places around also seem to not have one.

Overall the stay was absolutely awesome. The lady at the reception was sweet and let us put our bags in early. The breakfast was tasty as well. All in all, really nice place.

WiFi ! Only day passes - continually having to log on . My friend from Canada had to have assistance from staff many times . How ordering breakfast was confusing the way it is written .

Quite tired in places. Room and bathroom needed painted and wardrobe door had a handle missing but it was a good sized room with lots of space.

This place was so welcoming and cosy. Situated over the bar/restaurant it was ideal for us as we had our baby girl with us. This ment we just came downstairs for food and a drink before going back to settle her. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating with the little one giving her colours and paper. The property is right on the water looking directly out onto the boat trips. Love this

Rooms are a bit tired and beds not the most comfortable. Twin beds rather than a sofa bed would make more sense. Sound through the door was loud early morning.

The location and size of the room were really good. Free parking was good too

The carpets had seen better days with some stains, and neither the bed nor the sofa bed were particularly comfortable. We attended the pub below for breakfast, which was convenient although the meal took quite some time.

The Balloch House has a great location, in terms of being right on the river that feeds into the Loch. It was a lovely walk along the river, and this was a highlight for us. The bathroom appeared to be clean and new, and the shower had good pressure.

Sofa bed could have been pulled out ready or the staff have told us on check in how to make up the sofa bed.
