    The shower

small room but clean and very nicely furnished. My only comment was that the shower was a bit tricky. When you first turn it on it spurts some water and then stopped. We left it running and it started to run again after about 2 minutes. Very strange. Also the drainage did not work properly. Saying that the shower was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was very good. I had the full English and it was perfect.

The breakfast was not as it should have been. There was no staff for service left waiting to be seated, didn’t happen went asked at the bar and was told the girl was the only one working and we had to wait. Eventually seated. Breakfast was not the best I’ve had there before. Eggs were over cooked sausages need more cooking, when ask if everything was ok I said about this and was told can’t be they are cooked with a timer. This breakfast took over 1 hour to be served, also no coffee for self service, difficult to ask when there wasn’t the staff to replenish. Also in the bar the tonic water in G&T was not a bottle just from a tap. Unpleasant to say the least. We have stayed before but found this visit the usual standard was not as good.

    Lovely rooms clean and comfortable

It was a hot day and the room didn't have aircon. It took a while for the room to cool after opening the window fully.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were really helpful, and breakfast in the pub next door was excellent too.

Like everything. Bar staff could do we being more cheerful and learning to smile. This has only been a note on this staff usually lovely staff. Waiting staff excellent.

Always enjoy our stay here, it’s a favourite for us to visit. Location and rooms can’t be beat. Love the rooms both upstairs in the pub and annex. Great food and lovely seating area outside.

Evening meal rather disappointing ...obviously been a very busy Sunday service. However, drinks good and very reasonably priced, plenty of staff. We would stay again as walking distance along the canal into Chester!

Lovely large room 3 very comfortable bed, good shower, very clean. Very helpful staff ...Josh arranged room allocation prior to our stay. Lovely setting on canal. Good breakfast choice, plentiful and good quality and served with a smile!

Even though booking. Com hadn't booked the family room I paid for so was only given double room. Manager at Cheshire cat included breakfast next morning to compensate for initial extra charge paid for family room. Therefore was sorted quickly and without fuss. As there were only 2 of us the double room was fine, however Booking. Com should have booked the correct room so all credit to Cheshire cat.

Lovely and clean food was lovekt

There's not a lot not to like. It was a bit fiddly getting into our room because immediately after the bedroom door was a set of steps, but once upstairs, the size of the room and the bathroom were fine.

We stayed for one night after a shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks. For the price we paid, the whole stay was excellent. We had a nice meal in the restaurant that evening and breakfast was good (not a buffet, you order off a menu). A bonus was finding that it was right on the Shropshire Union Canal so we could have a lovely walk before breakfast.
