For the price I would expect breakfast to be included. Pillows were lumpy. The hairdryer cord was really short so couldn’t stand and use in front of the mirror.

I liked the central location and a parking space. The pub/restaurant was a lovely building with outdoor seating either side. The room was spacious, tidy and clean with tall ceiling with beams (room 11), bed was comfortable. Modern and spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Security was excellent with key fob entry.

Love everything about the place. It's spacious, overlooking the spacious mountain, cosy. We enjoyed our stay here.

Although the room was large there wasn’t a storage cupboard, only a storage wrack. There is plenty of room for a wardrobe for storing clothes. Didn’t bother us too much as we were only staying for 2 nights.

Room was large with a very comfortable bed. Bar area was ok. Evening meal was good. The location was very good. Great for a walk up Mam Tor.

We had a fabulous overnight stay here for a concert at the Cave. The staff were friendly welcoming and very accommodating. The room was lovely and the food was delicious. I'd 100% recommend The Castle to anyone.

The only problem was the hot water tap in the bathroom sink wasn't very warm and I had to boil a kettle for a shave.

Breakfast was delicious, the staff friendly & attentive. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a large bathtub

Our room was in the attic space and we found it a bit stuffy. There was a fan but when you can't open a window all the fan does is move warm air around.

We paid £188 per night and the room was basic with no nice touches in the room. We met friends for dinner and a lot of the menu was sold out. I have used many vintage inns this was easily the worst one. Nice staff but could do with a little refining on their customer service

    There was free car parking

The dinner on the Sunday night was not great. We had the Trio of meats Sunday roast which was edible but sadly lacking in both flavour and the Crackling which it was supposed to come with. The pork belly was soggy, the roast potatoes hard in the middle and neither one of us finished our meal. I’m sure this was just an off day as the breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious.

Great location and really lovely staff. The room was bright and the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean and although small didn’t feel cramped. Sadly building work was ongoing at the property so scaffolding was surrounding the building and obscured what I’m sure would have been a lovely view from the window.

Our room had a bathroom door that wouldn't close properly meaning the extraction fan kept kicking in which was massively annoying at night Also the radiator rattled during the night meaning after two nights we were quite frankly happy to get home to our own bed and slept in very late the next morning .

Staff very helpful Location is extremely picturesque.Food is excellent.
