Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with our young daughter at the barn. The location is stunning, very peaceful. Maryann was a lovely host and left a lovely array of food and drink on arrival. The beds were really comfortable. The windows and bath in the main bedroom were fabulous. We are already looking at booking our next stay :)

United KingdomWe loved everything about our stay. The hamper was an added bonus and a wee visit from the dog in the morning was warmly welcomed especially from the kids. All the little details made our stay so comfortable. A home away from home. Thank you so much.

United KingdomNothing, it was stunning!!
Stunning property! Spacious enough for a family of 4. Very clean & tidy! Cannot fault this property at all. Great location for Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge etc. Saw an abundance of wildlife in the mornings & evenings. Cannot recommend this property enough. Maryann the host was brilliant. Baked us a chocolate cake for my partners birthday and provided a hamper of fantastic goodies including milk, cereals, bacon, fresh bread, juice, rose wine, crisps and jaffa cakes. These goodies made the stay ever so more enjoyable. I would FULLY RECOMMEND this property and cannot wait to visit again. 10/10

United KingdomWe were met with a beautiful breakfast hamper and snacks, milk, orange juice, tea, coffee and a lovely homemade cake and a lovely bottle of wine! The barn was homely and beautiful inside and out. Lots of space for the children to play and the views were just exceptional. Close to local amenities. The host Maryann was absolutely lovely. We were greeted by two very friendly horses to the left of the barn which I think made the children’s holiday. We had an amazing time and would love to return.

United KingdomThe only thing really was the single lane dirt track leading up to the property wasn't very good for my car, had to drive very carefully not to knock the bumper. There was an issue with the heating but the owner remedied immediately by providing oil filled radiators, it didn't cause any problems for us at all. The mattress in the master bedroom was a bit too soft for my partner who suffers with his back. I found it comfortable tho.
The property was beautiful, clean and very well equipped. Had a lovely welcome hamper which was a very nice touch, including snacks, fresh bread, a bottle of wine, breakfast items and a delicious homemade cake! The whole house was furnished nicely, with plenty of storage space. The bedrooms and bathrooms are amazing. The views from the Barn overlooking the fields was simply stunning, having a cup of tea sat in the lounge looking out was so relaxing. Not to far a drive to the local shops with some beautiful nearby villages set in picturesque surroundings. The owner gave us the name of a lovely country pub that served amazing food at a very reasonable price. Will definitely book again in warmer weather and take our grandchildren. Would thoroughly recommend, we had a fabulous, relaxing stay!

United KingdomThe living room is a little bit chilly. Windows needed cleaning throughout. Didn’t know how to get Freeview ( Normal channels) had to trial the different profiles, perhaps some basic instructions? There were other tiny things but none which at all impacted our stay, like wobbly tap in loo downstairs.
The view from the bedroom and Lounge are lovely. Was nice to greet the horses each monring. The property has an lovely open plan kitchen/diner and a surprise of extras provided by the owner, there was pretty much everything you'd need, and a lovely home-made cake. Owner was delightful.

United KingdomThe property and the location were both wonderful and the owner could not have been nicer. We arrived to find supplies for breakfast (we arrived at 2 a.m.) plus a delicious home made cake. The rooms are both spacious and homely and the under floor heating works very well. We were there for a family visit rather than a holiday, but I would not hesitate to recommend the property to anyone looking for a high quality, quiet and relaxing location in beautiful countryside, yet barely five minutes away from supermarkets and shops.

United KingdomIt was perfect
We had a lovely 2 night stay at the barn, we arrived in the dark after a 5 hour car journey ( traffic was awful ) But the host was so welcoming and it was soo nice to arrive to a delicious home made cake and a basket full of goodies,we thought that was such a lovely/thoughtful touch. The home was decorated so beautifully for Christmas and the heating was on keeping us all warm and cosy, we didn’t stay in the house for long as we were out majority of our stay but it was so nice to wake up and sleep in a such a homely cottage in beautiful surroundings.
