The only downside is that the rooms and hallways need redecorating really as it's noticeable that it needs attention.

Ibis was a great place to stay. Location was just outside centre but a nice walk to and from. The Ibis staff/team were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and tasty and well presented. The room was very clean and basic.

The beds were really uncomfortable, and the room was quite cold at night. There was a heater, but we didn’t want to sleep with the heating on. The wallpaper was woodchip, which we thought was a little bit dated.

The location was excellent, and the staff were polite and friendly at all times. Breakfast was really good too.

Location is a bit far from the core of the town, it's approx a 15 to 20 min walk to the centre, but only 10 mins to train station. The room size was on the small side.

I would say it was a standard place to stay, very functional. The room was on the small side with 2 persons finding it a bit crammed especially if you have a suitcase. The room was clean, breakfast was of good standing and the customer service was excellent. They even store your bags for the day if you need to.

The room was small and there was only one very uncomfortable chair. The bed was really close to the window, you couldn’t walk around the bed.

The staff in the morning were wonderful - breakfast was marvellous. The location is superb.

Everything was working very well until a group of people arrived at the middle of the night and was really loud and noisy. They were staying in the room next to us and we could literally hear everything especially the shouting. It affected our sleep all throughout and we suggest maybe soundproofing could be more improved. Also, there was a leak coming from the exhaust fan in the bathroom and the smoke detector as well had a leak.

The staff were really helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and TV had a lot of channels to choose on. The bathroom was clean and wide as well. Keycard was working well. The breakfast was exceptionally good as there are many options to choose from. Check in and check out was smooth.

A few minor things lessened our experience at the hotel. One annoyance was the lack of power outlets by the beds. Also, we asked for extra towels on our first day. These arrived promptly but were then taken away the next day by housekeeping and not replaced. Breakfast was fine but I was surprised at the lack of non-dairy milk options (apparently soy milk is available but this did not seem to be on display).

The location is good, about 10-15 minutes' walk from the main city centre attractions and the railway station. There are restaurants, a small supermarket and a cinema on the street leading to the hotel. The staff we interacted with were all friendly and efficient. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

One problem is limited parking facilities. We were lucky as we got there and managed to find a space but it did cost an extra £20 (£10 per night) on top of the hotel cost which makes it quite expensive, although I’m aware that it would cost us a lot more to park on a public car park and it also gives peace of mind that your car is safe. I did find the lift on the small side but that’s because I don’t like confined spaces!

I loved the location, not far from the centre of York. I asked for a quiet room and that’s what we got, nice and comfortable and clean, with a good sized TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, fan and extra pillows. Staff are really polite and friendly, both on reception desk and in the café We managed to get payable parking on site but it’s a small carpark and very busy so you do have to get there early and hope for the best. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. Everything was piping hot, very clean and the main focal point for me was a Nutella dispenser (genius). I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and staying here again in the future.
