Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's not the hotel's fault but there were some road works right outside that started early in the morning, it would have been good to know about these in advance so we could prepare by having some earplugs with us.
The room was nice and clean, the staff were friendly, overall the experience was what we expected, the location is good, easy to reach the city centre and the West End as well.

United KingdomLots of construction going on outside, couldn't find entrance for the longest time. Absolutely not the hotels fault but keep that in mind when booking!
Generally nice hotel, just what we expected, trustable Ibis quality, staff was very helpful and patient, especially with my family (that struggles with their English)

United StatesI think it was a bit steep for an Ibis, though I acknowledge this one is in the city centre.
The location was great. Even though there was construction in front, it was still easy enough to get in and out. The room was comfortable and clean.

New ZealandRoadworks complicated access to the hotel unavoidably, but it took us a while to find the place as even the taxidriver was unsure. One tiny sign said IBIS, while bigger signage proclaimed Novotel.

United KingdomBreakfast was one of the worse breakfasts I've ever had in a hotel . The bacon was predominately fat . The fry eggs was green . The scrambled egg was water The sausages were over cooked dramatically the black pudding would smash a window it was that hard and dry . But to be fair on the ibis hotel they are sharing a breakfast buffet in the Nova hotel next door . We also witnessed a manager drinking juice from the buffet table while sorting out the food out . I've stayed in ibis many times and think if ibis did there own breakfast this would have been a completely different outcome . Also in the surrounding area there are a lot of building sites . Areas coned off . Not to mention the noise that they created a 6am so it was a early wake up call caused by the noise levels. Hardly the hotels fault but there is legal times that excessive noise pollution can be made so perhaps a suggestion to them about what is legal to make noise wouldn't go a miss . Also while walking in the streets around the hotel the waste levels are so excessive that you think your in a landfill site . The adjacent streets of the hotel are absolutely disgusting with waste . My wife was surprised not to see mice or rats at night .
Great hotel in a good location for what we required it for . Friendly staff . Room was exceptional clean and tidy .

United KingdomWould prefer to have 2 chairs, more of the Freeview TV channels with a slightly higher volume & perhaps bigger mugs for tea/coffee. Otherwise no complaints
We liked the room design, everything was very clean & the bed was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the Hydro & also close to shops & take aways. The staff are always very helpful & pleasant & it is good that we can store our luggage for a few hours after checking out.

United KingdomFor the money the Ibis is a good stay. If we are going to a gig at that end of Glasgow the hotel is ideal.
Rooms are good, hotel is close to the Garage venue. Room a bit more expensive than normal but not an issue.

United StatesDuring our three week visit to Scotland, the Ibis was our base. We do not have any complaints and would stay there again.
The beds were comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and pleasant. The Ibis is in a convenient location for taxi and train access. The offered breakfast was delicious, well prepared, and pleasantly presented. The lovely and helpful staff made our stays easy.
