The bathroom. Too small and dated. Not a proper shower cubical. Had to climb into a bath.

Enjoyable food. Good atmosphere. Clean everywhere. Relaxing in the garden.

good hotel but there are criminils in their car park and hotel managment does not care about it.

I parked my car in the hotel's carpark on a Saturday and went for check in between 2:30pm and 3pm, I came out to get the luggage and found out, the front left side of my car was damaged. The damage was clearly done as an assault and not by an other vehicle. I showed the damage to the hotel management. Their immediate reaction was supportive and promised me to send any CCTV captures if possible. I left my contact details as I had to leave the day after. Unfortunately the hotel management didn't react to any of my calls and emails, which I simply asked them to reply to me if there is any thing to be seen on CCTV. A simple reply to my calls and emails would have been suffient. I 'm very disappointed as it shoes the management did not care at all, especially the damage was done on prepose on their car park and in a clear day light.

    friendly, cute atmosphere

Toilet leaked all night. Needs sorting. Power cut meant only cereal for breakfast. No alternative so had to stop of for food. Room hot and felt clammy.

Nice big room. Evening meal nice. Good location for Canterbury. Nice location. Staff good and helpful. Clean and tidy..

Single beds were too small, and single duvets did not provide adequate coverage, needed double size duvets. Hotel plumbing was also very noisy and the toilet cistern took forever to fill up.

Restaurant food was excellent. Hotel gardens were perfect for a quiet walk, and hotel was quiet in general. Perfect for a peaceful break. Staff were courteous and very helpful.

Rooms could be more organized, lighting could be better. Shower water speed slow, needs to improve. Minor issues.

Lovely hotel, old world charm and regal feel to it. Great location, driving distance to town centre but nestled in quiet corner alongside apple orchards and lake behind. Delicious breakfast, number of options. Limited menu for dinner and lunch, but absolutely spot on and exquisite. Top it all, stellar Staff and service, must mention ‘Kevin’ amazing person, very helpful, courteous, hard working and made us feel at home. Charmi for being lovely host, and for the tour of the old side of hotel, and the countless stories and hotels history. Enchanting.

Thought the bathroom could have had much better lighting & although the evening meal & wine were delicious thought the price was a bit high.

The room was spacious & comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was one of the best rack of lamb that I have been served. The grounds & garden was beautiful.

Conveniently located on outskirts of Canterbury, plenty of free parking. Really friendly and helpful staff, couldn’t fault them. The evening meal and breakfast were both excellent, we were able to eat outside in the garden which was a real bonus.

The only criticism would be the water pressure in the shower, it wasn't very powerful. Apart from that everything thing else was spot on.

The location was stunning, a great place yourself for exploring the local area of Canterbury. The staff were very professional, always doing their best to pamper to your needs, and the food was excellent, a great choice on the menu.

Cozy stay in a fancy manor

Considering the age of the building, the floors are uneven and creaking and the doors make quite some noise. Not necessarily something that bothered us, but if you're a light sleeper, you will hear the neighbors moving around.

Interesting old-time manor in the near of Canterbury, green quiet area, peaceful gardens. The room was large, with soft beds and cozy overall feeling, the bathroom was also spacious enough. Breakfast offered enough options to choose from and we enjoyed the pancakes and the English veggie ones. Gave the right feeling of spending a night in the English countryside in an aristocratic way.

We had an evening meal once but it was very disappointing and overpriced.

Our room was clean and comfortable with a pleasant view of the garden. The staff were very helpful and there was a wide menu for breakfast. The hotel is well situated for exploring Canterbury and the coast.

The history of the house was extremely interesting and informative about the long history of the location. I think it would be welcomed by many guests if there was a full printed version available to take away either at no cost or for a modest sum such as 50p. A small suggestion for improvement!

This is a very convenient location either for exploring Canterbury or as a break on the way to destinations elsewhere in Kent. The room was well equipped with the inclusion of two chairs particularly welcome. In too many hotels it is necessary to sit on the bed or a hard desk chair. The grounds offer the opportunity for short walks . The meals we had were good too.
