We were on the first floor overlooking a side street, and early morning, there were lorries collecting glass bottle bins on one morning, which woke us up. There was also a lot of noise coming from the floor above at around 4/5am, which sounded like tables and chairs being moved. There are a lot of conference rooms in this hotel so I could have been that. But it was a ridiculous time to do this. It went on for around 30 minutes, so it was very disruptive.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety and was very nice.

The facilities are poor the building is rundown. There isn’t else much to offer for value for money. It’s just a room in a hotel with a breakfast bar.

The location is perfect, but I’m afraid that all the holiday Inn has got.

The foldout sofa bed for the kids was quite uncomfortable and poor quality. If our kids were older it would have been a struggle.

We booked weeks in advance but still didn’t manage to get ourselves a sea view room. The view was nice enough though, of Regency Square and the 360 ride. Check in was strictly 4pm which led to big queues at that time. No chance of early check in but they do have a luggage drop service. The photos of the lobby and outside seating on their website are a bit misleading. There’s only one restaurant and it’s very limited for space, inside, lobby level and a bit basic. But the staff were amazing and made up for it.

Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was really good. There’s a little cafe bar that sells food and has a kid’s menu. There’s a/c in the rooms and the windows are good at keeping out noise from the street. We had a child’s bed in the room at no extra cost, we just needed to ask on arrival and they brought it up a while later. There’s a room service menu, no deserts but you can buy chocolate bars at the cafe.

The air conditioning did not work. A fan was in the room but just moved the hot air around. The tub was way too deep to accommodate a person 5'3" and 87 years old without a death wish.

The staff treated us well. The breakfast was good. The room was clean. The site was perfect.

Bathroom was tired and needs a refurb. Shower stool was broken and should've been checked before letting the room. Room service breakfast one morning was over an hour late. Room one day was not serviced by housekeeping until nearly 5pm!

Issues with early check-in despite calling in advance where the lady I spoke with said she had clearly marked next to my name that an early check-in was verbally agreed. Luckily this was resolved within around 20 minutes of arriving however was slightly baffled considering I’d called earlier in the day. Rooms were dated and not the cleanest however it did have all the basics we needed.

Communication not good trying to arrange an earlier check in for a Brighton wedding at 4.00 PM I made the request when booking. Rang many times. On arrival at 1.30 plenty of people trying to check in ,only I person on reception,she was overwhelmed

We booked a larger premium room that has really poor decor. There was a badly stained chair that was swapped out for us, an ancient looking phone that didn’t work and was replaced, but mostly the water stained ceiling around the AC unit, flaking paint around the bathroom door and chips on the skirting just showed a really tired decor that desperately needs a full redecoration. It did not feel four star. The bed sheets were immaculate but the bed felt old and very soft in the middle too. Possibly one of the worst condition rooms I’ve stayed at in decades, didn’t expect that from Holiday Inn.

The reception and breakfast staff were excellent, friendly attentive and worked really hard as the hotel was full. We had some issues with our room that were sorted rapidly by the reception lady. The choice of breakfast items and quality was really good. When I gave feedback on the poor room politely on check out, the reception lady really listened and responded appropriately and said the rooms are tired and a makeover is due in 2025. I really appreciated her honesty and professionalism.
