Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom was cold and needed to have a heater on constantly during our stay. Room was also above an operating business (garage) so lots of noise during the day.

United KingdomNo gym, and no pool. The bath was a bit blocked slow to drain, and the plug in bathroom sink was hard to get out. Also we had two rooms but they were on two different floors.
The food was good, beds comfortable and great view, the toilets were clean, excellent location near to the beach and all good things in Brighton.

United KingdomWhen we went to draw the curtains on our first night, we saw a very nasty black patch of mold by the curtains and it must have been there for weeks, if not months (see photo)! Needless to say, we stayed clear of the area. After informing Delphi at the front desk, she came into our room later that evening to sort (thanks again Delphi!). Let down by housekeeping yet again, our room was not cleaned on the second day (admittedly we did not hang any card outside, didn't think we need to?), they only took out the rubbish, did not replenish minibar, any toilet rolls or towels and did not make the bed. Air con - this appears to be centrally controlled, no matter what I pressed on the controls, it did not change anything in the room. Lift - only one of two lifts to hotel room was working, although traffic wasn't heavy so not very long wait times. The only lift to car park was out of order, so this meant we had to carry all our luggage up the narrow stairs.
Friendly staff and a special thanks to Delphi from the front desk who went above and beyond her normal course of duties! She helped sort our mold issue (see below) without any complaints, very professional, no doubt a valuable asset to the team. Free minibar, complimentary crisps provided. Great location, right by the seafront and Preston Street where there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was decent, a good variety - it did get busy towards 8.30am-9am so go earlier if you can. Recognition of IHG platinum elite status was nice. IHG members are also allowed to check out late subject to availability.

United KingdomParts of the hotel are tired and the photos are considerably different to what’s actually there. 2 of the lifts weren’t working, neither was the TV in the bar. Ordering room service, to include free kids meals was confusing (although staff were very helpful).
Location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also good value for money with plenty of choice.

United KingdomThe lift from the carpark to the hotel was out of order so we had to carry our luggage up a series of stairs, was not the beat experienced. The room windows were dirty and restricted view to the sea front despite having requested in advance a sea front view and having paid for a high-level premium room to celebrate my wife's birthday. This wasn't the end of the world as i can understand there are limited options for families of four travelling with pets, however there appeared to be some small stains where bug had been splattered on the wall and wipped area of the ceiling which wasn't cleaned properly prior to us checking in which let the room down a little. In addition, we seemed to have a broken coffee maker and telephone in the room, which i reported to the front deak on arrival, but they never repaired or replaced during our stay. The mattress was very firm and was a little hard on my back as I already suffered from back problems, but this is a personal confert issue. Not everyone will have the same issue. I really wanted to give flying high feedback for my stay, especially as the staff were so helpful, but unfortunately, there were too many little bits that left me with mixed feelings.
ALL of the staff were super friendly and approachable. They seemed eager to assist, and the room was spacious. There was a mini fridge in the room with complimentary drinks, which was great 👍

Czech RepublicThe bed for a family room was small and uncomfortable. It’s advertised as extra large bed and king room but this was a small sized double and the mattress was worn in. Even the sofa bed for 2 kids was too small and very poor considering the price.

United KingdomWe could not sleep as we could hear everything from the next room and they were extremely loud, walls very thin.
The staff was really nice and we liked the room. We arrived early and although we could not check in early the lady Vicky gave us a card so we could use the facilities and we thought this was so kind and appreciated it as she did not have to do that. All our questions were answered and nothing was too much. I wish all staff could be a lovely as the holiday inn staff. The lady who served us at the bar was also exceptionally lovely. We could come back here in a heartbeat.

United KingdomWe booked king room. In pictures, it shows bathroom with bathtub but it was just shower and a pretty small bathroom. Moreover they don’t provide bottle of drinking water. I would appreciate the staff when we mentioned both the issues, they provided 2 bottles of still water (also gave option of sparkling) complementary due to misunderstanding about the bathroom.
It’s spacious and located nearby all attractions. All the places were in 10 mins walk. We had side sea view room which was perfect

United KingdomThe lift from the carpark to the hotel was out of service. It would have been nice to have been sent an email with pre warning as we had to get 3 bags, a pram and our baby upstairs, with no help.
Room was fine. It was dated but clean and had everything we needed. Great complimentary soft drinks and water in fridge, as well as Crisps. Staff were great. Very helpful. On arrival they gave us free breakfast for our 2 night stay due to lots of noise from a wedding party. Also gave us free parking.
