we really liked everything other than our breakfast table was cleared and new people sat at it while we were up getting our food, which I feel wasn’t great.

the staff on arrival were lovely and really helpful, the hotel had a nice atmosphere and was comfortable and the facilities were great.

Food was expensive and average. Not value for money! Plus I couldn’t understand why restaurant manager wouldn’t put the Roland Garros tennis final on the main tv in the bar when there was nobody there that it would have disturbed. Instead he insisted he could only put the tennis on a tv tucked in the corner. I thought that was silly.

Checkin was very pleasant. Reception staff (Aila and Bulbul) very helpful and friendly.

Would've been a nice touch if parking was free for guests. You could add that into the price of the room, and most folks wouldn't bother with the 6 pound daily charge.

Breakfast was good, just like all the other comments we read. The bed was also comfy, we slept well. Cleanliness, which is something important to us when we travel, also met our expectations.

Checking in was a bit negative, were told we only had 1 room booked and not 2. Then the girl started to book one of us in. I expected her to sort the no 2nd booking problem first. In case we had to go elsewhere for 2 rooms. But we were ok, maybe me just having a panic!

Only issue was one of the lifts being out of order when we were on the 4th floor but it didn't spoil our stay. Air conditioning in the room was very weak could have been a problem if the weather was hot.

Check in was a good experience. Room was very clean with everything we needed. Excellent breakfast, very helpful staff and location to public transport very convenient.

Not a dislike just a little niggle that the air con didn’t work and room got a bit warm. We did mention it to the lady on reception and she said it would be taken care off.

The size of the bed was very very disappointing-I booked and paid extra for a King size bed but on arrival the bed was just a normal standard double bed… so very disappointing but I didnt want to make too much of it at the time as it was a special birthday weekend meet up . The staff at the time were apologetic but that didnt solve the disappointment and inconvenience and annoyance at paying extra for the king size bed when it clearly wasnt . Very disappointing as I have stayed in this Holiday Inn many times over the years (way back when it had a swimming pool!) and Holiday Inn’s all over Europe and booked previously with Booking.Com and not been disappointed so this was a great shame .

As we were a little later getting down to breakfast a few things were running low… but they replaced quickly and did a lovely omelette for me as iam vegetarian… there was no brown bread left. Maybe a gluten free bread may be an option?

It would be preferable to have a bottle of water in the chiller, or signage to clarify the tap water is suitable for drinking.
