Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany- room very small but quite ok for just sleeping in it - the interior looked in many places "done do-it-yourself", some refurbishment and maintenance by professionals (flush/clean the drainpipes, renew the silicone seals in the bath, exchange worn mountings, apply some new colour) could significantly improve the appearance - the only real negative thing: the escape situation in case of fire; very narrow corridors, doors opening opposite to the escape direction, windows practically not to open (except for a 1" gap, if you're strong enough you might try to smash the window and kick out the wooden frame); definitely nothing for vulnerable persons (children, disabled); but at least fire detectors are installed
- good location close to the Underground; many shops and restaurants around (you will definitely not starve) - bed much more comfortable than it looks :-) - very quiet at night (I had a ground floor room towards the street, might be different in rooms towards the railroad side)

United KingdomWhile I admire they were trying to provide everything a traveller might need, including an iron, the space meant that everything was tiny--the bathroom, in particular, was ridiculously small. There were 4 or 5 steep steps inside the room to get to the main level, be aware of that if that might be a problem. Also, the bed, while comfortable enough, was built in, like on a platform, and was incredibly high, belly button high for me, 5'2". I had to literally hop on my bum to get on. Sounds more fun than it was!
The location is great, a quick walk from Earl's Court Tube station, so excellent connections into London. Lots of restaurants in the area, including a gem of a fully vegan Thai restaurant, Mali. The room had everything you would need, but everything was so compact that I wouldn't recommend a long stay there. Other rooms are bound to be bigger than mine was. Given that it is in an old building, I really appreciated there was a lift.

United KingdomWe found the tv in the room wasn’t tuned in and we had to do it, not enough loo roll provided and some of the lights didn’t work.

United KingdomI ordered room service breakfast, which was unfortunately nearly 30 minutes late on one morning. The food was great, but I didn't have time to enjoy it all.
The room was very nice, looking fresh and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent, being right near restaurants, pubs and the Tube station.

United Kingdomthat there was bags rubbish, mattresses outside on the street where the hotel was.
We liked the fact that our hotel was not far from tube station or places to eat. The room was fine except for the fact we had a little mouse visit us but went to reception reported it but they were unable to move us until the next day which did happen and all our luggage was moved for us, they are also refunding us for that one night.

CanadaThere was a MOUSE in our room. I entered the room after a long day, and it came from under the bed and zipped out under the door. Told the staff at the front, all I was told was "sorry about that". Could hear pretty well anything going on outside of the room as well, not sound proof at all.
Thought the room was fairly clean and comfortable. Close to Earl Court tube.

United KingdomI was right above a train line. I'm guessing that's why the room price was lower than it might have been in London. I didn't get much sleep. Trains were noisy until past midnight and then started again at the crack of dawn.
Nice cosy room. I liked the high bed. The room was small and compact but more than enough for me for one night. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good.

NetherlandsVery disappointed that there was no warm water to shower or take a bath. Two cold showers in two days! After the first, I spoke with staff, but nothing was done to remedy this. Not sure I'll come back, which is a shame because otherwise it seemed a lovely hotel.
